평생 학업을 닦아 筆墨(필묵)이 서로 잇닿고 깨끗하고 안락하게 관직에 있어
우아하게 저절로 한곳에 살며 속세의 떠들썩함에 함께하지 않고
물욕 밖에서 자유롭게 거닐어 다니는 것이다.

  Cultivating scholarship throughout life, brush and ink work continously;

  holding a government post in purity and comfort, one lives elegantly in a quiet place,

  staying away from the clamor of the world realm and srrolling freely beyond material desires.

世修學業하여 翰墨相接호대 (세수학업하여 한묵상접호대)

 Cultivating academic learning throughout life, literary writing and scholarship continue without end;

淸安得祿하여 優雅自居하며 (청안득록하여 우아자거하며)

  Holding offical positions with purity and peace of mind, residing naturally in elegance and quiet;

不與塵聒하여 物外逍遙니라. (불여진괄하여 물외소요니라.)

  Joining not in the noisy turmoil of the secular world, wandering freely beyond worldly desires.
