1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.  2 At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks.  3 I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.  4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris,  5 I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist.  6 His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.  7 I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; the men with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves.  8 So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless.  9 Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.  10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.  11 He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.  12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.  13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.  14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."  15 While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless.  16 Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, "I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I am helpless.  17 How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe."  18 Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength.  19 "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed," he said. "Peace! Be strong now; be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, "Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength."  20 So he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;  21 but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince.  1 And in the first year of Darius the Mede, I took my stand to support and protect him.)

다니엘의 나이는 약84-85세

다니엘은 힛데겔(Hiddekel=Tigris) 강 언덕에 서 있었는데...
세마포 옷, 우바스 순금 띠, 몸은 황옥 , 얼굴은 번갯빛, 눈은 횃불, 팔과 발은 빛난 놋, 언성(言聲)은 무리의 소리와 같은 천사를 만나
페르시아와 벌어질 그리이스 전쟁이 있을 것임을 예고(豫告) 받는다

그런데 13절을 보면
그 천사가 다니엘이 있는 곳까지 오는동안
페르시아 왕이 훼방을 해서 21일동안이나 지체 되었는데
미가엘의 도움으로 이제야 왔다는 언급 하는 것을 본다

여기서 궁굼한 것 
왜 천사는 
마치 페르시아 왕을 
사탄(撒旦 satan)처럼 묘사(描寫)했는가 이다

에스라1:1-4의 기록에 나오는 고레스는 
그야말로 하나님의 쓰임받는 종으로 오해하기 쉽지만
사실 귀환조서(歸還詔書)는 1879년 바벨론 유적지에서 발견된 ‘키루스 원통(Cyrus Cylinder)’ 설형문자 토기에 "내가 티그리스강 저편의 거룩한 도성들과 신전들을 중수하고, 그곳에 살던 주민들을 다시 모아 그들의 본향으로 돌려보냈다"를 참고한다면
비록 사44:28에 하나님은 그를 향하여 ‘내 목자’ 45:1에 ‘그의 기름부음 받은 고레스’라는 표현을 사용했더라도 
그는 하나님께서 그런 감동을 주신 것 조차 모르는 가운데 오직 자신의 결정으로 그런 명령을 내린 것이라는 진실(眞實)을 발견하게 된다

이 예언은 알렉산더 대왕(알렉산드로스 3세)이 BC334년 마케도니아·그리스 연합군을 이끌고 헬레스폰투스 해협(※오늘날의 공식명칭: 다르다넬스 해협(Dardanelles Strait)/터키(튀르키예) 현지에서는 차나칼레 해협(Çanakkale Boğazı)이라 호칭)을 건너 단 4년 만에 당대 초강대국이었던 페르시아 제국을 완전히 정복
알렉산더의 군대는 4년만에 ① 그라니코스 전투 (BC 334년) - ② 이수스 전투 (BC 333년) - ③가우가멜라 전투 (BC 331년)에서 끝내기 전쟁을 승리로 이끌었던 것으로
BC536년 단10장의 예언은 성취되었던 것을 확인할 수 있다

하나님은 왜 다니엘에게 미래를 알려주고 성경으로 기록되게 하셨을까?
그것은 바로 역사의 주(主) 그리고 섭리통치자(攝理統治者)가 누구 인가를 알게 하기 위함
그렇게 함으로써 
묵시적(黙示的) 은유적(隱喩的) 방편으로조차
온 인류가 하나님 원하시는 구원(救援) 받게 되기를 원(願)하신다는 사실을 알림으로 
하나님의 사랑을 표현하신 것이며
반면에 완전알림의 방법으로 하나님의 공의심판(公義審判)에 이의(異意)를 제기(提起)할 수 없게 만드는 목적(目的)도 수반(隨伴)된 것으로 보여진다

하여 성경을 일반사(一般史)와 연결(連結) 연구(硏究)한다면
계시(啓示)의 성경(聖經) 곧 하나님의 말씀 언약성취사(言約成就史)와 일치(一致)함을 확인(確認)
하나님 신앙(信仰)에 도달(到達)하는데 많은 도움이 될 것인데...
인본(人本)의 전제(前提)를 배경(背景)삼고 있는 화인(火印)맞은 비양심소유자(非良心所有者)들에게 희망(希望)은 없는 것이 현실(現實)이다

이런 존재들을 위하여 내가 할 수 있는 일...
다만 주님을 바라보며
때로는 예레미야 같이 때로는 요나 같은 
그럼에도 불구하고 변화시켜 주실 니느웨 사람들의 역사가 
내 생애 중 나의 목회현장에서 일어나기를 바라며
오늘도 진아사대신명(盡我事待神命)  할 것을 생각하는 하루를 시작한다
