-God created the heavens and the earth.
-God is by Himself before eternity.
-No one can possibly know from when He has been, and to when He will nor does one actually know it.
He is from eternity and he will be for eternity
-The first creatures God created on His throne are angles.
-In other words, they have been created long before humans.
-There are archangels and under their commands, angels.
-Angels are heavenly servants.
-They attend on God, please Him, serve Him and worship Him.
-Their activities are described in various books of the bible among which revelation mentions severr.
-The bible tells also about archange namely, gabril, mirchael and luciel.
-The suffix "el" means in Hebrew 'god'
-and was added to their names because they were angles of God.
-Gabriel appeared before mary and informed her, "and behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a son and shall call his name Jesus.
He will be great and will be called the son of the Highest(luke 1:31-32)
He acts as a messenger of God's news
-Michael helped Daniel in his prayer (Dan, 10:13) and fought against satan (Jud 9, Rev 12:7)
-Michael means in Hebrew who is like God? And connotes God's strength . He mobilizes and operates the heavenly army.
-Then , luciel can be said to be 'the brilliant angel of God as "Luci" means 'to shine' Isaiah chapter 14 verse12 called him "the morning star (niv)" or "Day star(Rsv)"
-He was called so because originally he was the beautiful angel of light .
Endowed with this special beauty he was in charge of music.
-The eternal God favored angels with the privilege of eternal life.
-Unlike God who is forever by Himself (Exod 3:14), angels cannot exist by themselves nor can they live forever by themselves.
-All angels are spirit who are at God's service.
-Animals, tree, stones, and the earth are creatures. So are humans and angels the difference is that the former have no personality.
-Only the latter were created with the attributes of a person.
-Three faculties constitute personality namely, intellect, emotion, and will.
-Intellect designates the faculty of comprehending, speaking , and thinking;
-emotion is the faculty of feeling love, sorrow, compassion, and anxiety:
-Will is the faculty of discriminating, Judging and choosing.
-Consequently, angels can decide according to their own will.
-Their personality was made in such a way as to respond positively to God's commands.
-God can tell them to do this or that, and they obey Him.
-God only lives forever by Himself.
-Creatures can live forever only with God's help.
No creatures can live forever unless they are with God.
-Dogs or swine cannot have eternal life because God never granted it to them.
-Only humans and angels received this privilege.
-therefore the former can live forever after death and forever as persons of intellect, emotion, and will.
-Those who deny life after death regard humans as material beings, but the fact is that they are material and spiritual beings. On the other hand, the latter are purely spiritual.
-God gave the word to his spiritual creatures so that they may receive eternal life.
-Just as peter said in John 6:68, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life" God's word is eternal life.
-,The reason that Christians do not abandon faith despite all the persecutions they received from the world is that they know the word of eternal life.
-God changed the word into commands in order to process it into eternal life and marked off those who obey from those who do not.
-In the sence commands and the word of eternal life are identical.
Listening to the word is not enough.
-No matter how much you may have heard if this word cannot make you move, if can absolutely not become for you that of eternal life.
-Some listen to God's word say "Amen Amen" and jump of, but they do not move at all.
-They do not regard it as commandment but as some good teaching or stories but the fact is that God's word and commandment are not separate.
-The word of eternal life is one that commands me and makes me move.
Creatures cannot but move when they truly hear the word of God.
-Eternal life comes upon us when the word of eternal life is changed into commandments.
-Jesus said in John 12:48-50, "He who rejects me, and does not receive my words, has that which judges him the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day for I have not spoken on my own authority;
but the father who sent me gave me a command, what I should say and what I should speak and I know that his command is everlasting life.
Therefore whatever I speak, just as the father has told me so I speaka"
-In other words it is not listing to God's word if we just understand and agree "so, indeed" and stop there.
-It is when that word is applied as commandment that it becomes one of eternal ife.
-Likewise, angels listen and move when God's word is given them as commandment.
When they are about to accept God's commandment they must a clear choice.
-For example, it is useless to command someone to sweep the yard when he is already doing it.
-The command is meaningful only if the yard is not being swept.
-on the other hand, the one who hears the command has two possibilities: obey or refuse.
-The will is either passive or active, or to put it differently, receptive or rejective.
- They can by themselves accept or reject commands.
- This is a God given right to creatures.
In some sense, it is the right of unbelievers not to believe in Jesus.
-Their right is not to believe and they are using it to perish whereas Christians chose to believe and use the right for eternal life.
-Likewise angels right is to obey God's command and at the same time ,not to obey.
-they are perfect in the use of their rights.
-Many do not understand that God's creatures can be corrupted when their creator is perfect.
-but the perfection of a creature refers to its will only.
-the will in the function of acceptance and refusal is perfect.
-christians perfect right is to believe pagans perfect right is not to believe.
-God however will finally judge his creatures use of their rights because it is his very right to judge them.
-Now the obedient archangle manifested sudden rebellion.
-His own beauty had deceived him.
-He became arrogant before God because of his great beauty (Ezek28:15)
-The bible says that arrogance makes one an enemy of God.
-Arrogance is the greatest danger for spiritual being.
-Luciel out of arrogance considered rebelling against God.
-You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created till iniquity was found in you."
He chose the right to disobey rather than that to obey.
-the rebellious angel abandoned his position
-The servant who to worship the name of God left his position.
-I will glorify myself with the efforts I made till now to serve God.
-why should I please God with this glory? I can also be God and become independent.
God reserved in everlasting chains the unrighteous angel.
-2 peter 2:4 says "God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved for judgement.
-and also in jude 6 that, "The angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own habitation, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day"
It was from that moment that Luciel became Lucifer.
-The Morning star became the devil.
-lucifer means 'the devil'.
-It was thence forth that he was called satan which signifies 'adversary'
-He is called satan the enemy since he abandoned his position disturbed heavenly order and rebelled against God.
-Just as luciel the singing archangel became corrupted because of his beauty, luxury, and depraved music can be found today in the spheres of corruption.
-Which discloses perfectly the nature of the fallen angel.
-God expelled from heaven the angel who did not maintain his position and imprisoned him in the hades.
-In the world of humans also criminals are jailed for a time being and then punished.
-Even those who are sentenced to death are not executed immediately.
-Likewise, God put first the angel in the universe immediately after his rebellion.
-The universe is the place created after the spiritual world, that was prepared for the son of God to come and die for the Father's sake.
-The Hades is a place devoid of the word. John 1:4 says that life was in the word of trurh and that life was light so it regards the word, life, and light as equal.
-On the other hand the Hades is the place devoid of the word, so there are only lies as there is no truth, there is only death as there is no life, there is only darkness as there is no light.
-This is where satan is confined.
-The universe is ruled by death and darkness hence it is called the Hades, darkness.
-The universe was originally filled with gaseous water later it was divided into the waters above the firmament and those under the firmament.
-Just as vapor which fills a room liquifies on the cold surface of a window and changes into water drops, God divided the vapor which filled the universe into the two waters.
-then the earth emerged from the water under the firmament whereas the water above constituted the walls of the universe.
-The surface of the waters in genesis 1:2, "The spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters" refers to the outside wall of the universe.
-Moreover, "reserved in everlasting chains" in jude 6 has the same meaning.
-"Everlasting chains" means that God imprisoned.
-The eternal one is God only, the one who imprisoned satan within the universe is also God, who did it by His authority just like criminals are jailed.
-It is in this sense that genesis 1:2 and jude 6 mean the same.
Then how were the heavens and the earth created?
-In the beginning those were mixtures of dust and vaporous water which were then divided in the waters above and the waters under and there was an empty space in between.
-The dust gathered from the waters under and became dry land.
-Just as sediments sink and clear water rises above then dry land , i.e… the earth emerged out of the waters under the space.
-The universe is the place of confinement for satan.
-it is also his territory.
-consequently, all creatures within cannot but cohabit with, and be in conflict with the fallen angel who continues to promote rebellion towards God as his power prevails there.
-The kingdom of heaven destined for believers in nowhere to be found in the universe despite its immensity it is outside.
Then what sort of sin did the fallen angel commit.
First, he denied the unique God.
-The way of a creature to obtain eternal life is to believe in the uniqueness of God.
-john 17:3 said, "eternal life is to know the only true God" satan denied it.
-second, he deified himself a creature he said to himself, "I will also become God"
-Third, he blasphemed against the name of God. He attempted to have the name that is proper to God only.
-fourth, he disturbed the Sabbath which is God's holy environment.
-he brought chaos and destroyed the Sabbath.
Likewise, there are four aspects in the angel's fall and they constitute patterns of all sins.
-one can see similar aspects in the fall of adam.
-God made the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and warned of death in case adam would eat of its fruit.
-satan, however, spoke through the serpent, " why do you think God forbade you to eat from this free?
He just does not want you to become like him" and denied God's uniqueness.
-Second , he deified creatures by saying "If you eat, you will become like God".
Third, he took the name of God in vain by bestowing it indiscriminately to any creature, "You can also take his name"
Fourth, he broke the Sabbath of God by deranging the order in Eden.
-Then what is the significance of the ten commandments?
-They also warn one not be deceived by the devil
-The rebel in heaven appeared before Eve and appeared again in the camp of Israel to seduce them to sin in the same aspects
The First commandment is, "you shall not have no other gods before me"
-since there is no other gods than God you should not be deceived by the fallen angel.
-The second commandment is, "You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is" which means not to deify creatures.
-The devil who had deified himself in heavens and tried to make Eve deify herself induced Israel in making an idol and deifying creatures.
-The Third commandment is "you shall not take the name of your God in vain" in other words, the name of God should not be abused.
-The fourth commandment is "Remember the Sabbath day" Isaiah 58:13-14 says, "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day and call the Sabbath a delight; the holy day of the Lord honorable, and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in the Lord"
-and also in Hebrews 10:25 that, "not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together as is the manner of some" therefore anyone who does not keep the Sabbath, disturbs God's environment, and God never forgives them.
-Finally, what is the great commandment of the law?
-Jesus said, "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30), which also warns us not to be deceived by the fallen angel.
-Revelation 22:11-12 says, "he who is unjust, let him be unjust still: he who is filthy let him be filthy still : he who is righteous, let him be righteous still : he who is holy, let him be holy still and behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me to give to everyone according to his work".
The day of judgment awaits one.
-That is why one must not be deceived by the fallen angel, but we must rather glorify God.
