거친땅

포화가 잠시 잦아든 틈, 주변이 이상할 정도로 조용해졌다.

하지만 그건 고요함이 아닌, 또 다른 혼란의 전조였다.

“뭐야… 무언가 움직이고 있어.”

병사 하나가 뒤쪽을 가리키자, 덤불과 잔해 사이로 바삐 움직이는 작은 형체들이 보였다.

고블린들이다.

그들은 전투에 휘말리자마자, 전리품 사냥에 나섰다.

버려진 무기, 상자 속 보급품, 죽은 병사들의 갑옷까지 낚아채며 순식간에 어지럽게 흩어졌다.

“이 자식들! 우리 걸 훔쳐가고 있어!”

군인 하나가 소리치며 달려들었고, 고블린 하나가 빠르게 도망치다가 돌에 걸려 넘어졌다.

그러나 금세 다른 고블린들이 몰려와 기습 공격을 시도했다.

날카로운 단검과 뼛조각으로 만든 창을 들고 달려드는 그들의 눈은 붉게 충혈되어 있었다.

그때였다.

멀리서 짐승 같은 울음소리가 들리더니, 코요테 무리들이 나타났다.

털은 뻣뻣하고 눈빛은 야성 그대로, 땅을 박차며 무리를 이루어 달려들었다.

코요테들은 고블린과 아군을 가리지 않고 물어뜯고, 갈기갈기 찢어댔다.

“방어선을 유지해! 좌측은 내가 맡는다!”

병사 한 명이 쇼커를 휘둘러 코요테 무리의 정면을 막았다.

번쩍이는 전기가 퍼지며 몇 마리가 휘청이고, 다시 무리로 흩어졌다.

다른 병사는 화염방사기를 돌려 고블린들이 물러서도록 유도했다.

주변은 온통 불빛과 고함, 짐승의 비명으로 가득 찼다.

“도와줘! 저기서 또 달려온다!”

다시 한 번 바람이 갈라지고, 더 많은 코요테와 고블린이 함께 들이닥쳤다.

어디서 이렇게 많이 몰려온 건지, 잠시나마 사람들은 긴장 속에 움직였다.

휘두르는 검, 쏟아지는 총성, 그리고 끊임없이 몰려드는 적.

하지만 아직… 이게 끝이 아니었다.

As the saturation subsided for a while, the surroundings became strangely quiet.

But it wasn't silence, it was another harbinger of chaos.

"What is this... Something is moving."

As one soldier pointed back, he could see small figures rushing through the bushes and debris.

It's Goblin.

As soon as they were caught up in the battle, they went on a loot hunt.

It quickly dispersed, snatching abandoned weapons, supplies in boxes, and even the armor of the dead soldiers.

"You guys! They're stealing ours!"

One soldier ran in shouting, and one Goblin tripped over a stone as he ran away quickly.

However, other goblins soon flocked and attempted a surprise attack.

Their eyes were red and bloodshot as they rushed with sharp daggers and spears made of bone fragments.

It was then.

I heard a beastly cry in the distance, and a group of coyotes appeared.

The fur was stiff and the eyes remained wild, kicking on the ground and running in groups.

The coyotes bit and shredded, regardless of Goblin and his allies.

"Keep the line of defense! I'm on the left!"

​

A soldier swung a shocker to block the front of the coyotes.

A flash of electricity spread, some reeling, and then scattered back into groups.

The other soldier turned the flamethrower to induce the Goblins to back down.

The surroundings were filled with lights, shouting and animal screams.

"Help! They're running back!"

​

Once again the wind cracked, and more coyotes and goblin stormed in together.

Where so many people came from, people moved in tension for a moment.

Swinging swords, pouring gunfire, and a constant throng of enemies.

​

But not yet... This wasn't the end.
