In-bee outdone by the heat

KUALA LUMPUR: Park In-bee’s hopes of becoming the first player to defend the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia title looks to be in tatters after she could only finish in joint 28th place with a one-under 70 after the first round at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club on Thursday.

The world No. 1 seemed to be troubled by the hot weather, struggling to stay sharp and in control.

“My iron wasn’t working for me ... it wasn’t really sharp enough for me today. The hot weather made it tough to concentrate. I will have to try to relax and take it easy and prepare for tomorrow,” said the 25-year-old South Korean.
