Heritage Reimagined

We are excited to announce Heritage Reimagined: Interactive Database and Augmented Reality for Malay Kelingkan and Scottish Tapestry as a recipient of the Connections Through Culture Programme 2024/25!

This innovative project, led by Francesca Boyd (UK) and the Institut Alam & Tamadun Melayu ATMA UKM (ATMA, Malaysia), combines Augmented Reality (AR) technology to merge the rich traditions of Malay Kelingkan metalwork embroidery and Scottish tapestry. By exploring the connection between nature, landscape, and architecture, the project creates an interactive online database, fostering cross-cultural understanding and offering a valuable resource for students, researchers, and the public to appreciate and preserve these shared cultural heritages.
