Bible Reading - Esther 5:1~7

5:1 On the third day Esther put on(입다) her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king's hall.  제 삼일에 에스더는 왕비 옷을 입고 왕의 현관 앞, 궁전 안뜰에 섰다.

The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance.

왕은 입구를 접하고 있는 현관에 있는 그의 왕좌에 앉아있었다.

5:2 When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, 그가 뜰에 서있는 에스더 왕비를 보았을 때

he was pleased with her and held out to(~에게 내밀다) her the gold scepter that was in his hand. 

그는 그녀를 기뻐하며 손에 들고 있던 금홀을 그녀에게 내밀었다.

So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter.

그래서 에스더는 다가가서 홀 끝을 만졌다.

5:3 Then the king asked, 그때 왕이 묻기를 

"What is it, Queen Esther?  왕비 에스더여, 그것이 무엇인가?

What is your request? 너의 요구가 무엇인가?

Even up to half the kingdom, it will be given you." 왕국의 절반이라도 너에게 주어질 것이다. 

5:4 "If it pleases the king," replied Esther,

"만일 그것이 왕을 기쁘시게 한다면"하고 에스더가 대답했다.

"let the king, together with Haman, come today to a banquet I have prepared for him."

"하만과 함께 왕께서 오늘 내가 그를 위해 준비한 연회에 오소서."

5:5 "Bring Haman at once," the king said, "하만을 당장 데려오라."고 왕이 말했다.

 "so that we may do what Esther asks." 그러면 에스더가 요청한 것을 행할 수 있을 것이다.

So the king and Haman went to the banquet Esther had prepared.

그래서 왕과 하만이 에스더가 준비했던 연회에 갔다.

5:6 As they were drinking wine, the king again asked Esther, 

그들이 포도주를 마시고 있었을 때, 왕이 다시 에스더에게 물었다.

"Now what is your petition? 이제 너의 간청이 무엇인가?

It will be given you.  너에게 줄 것이다. 

And what is your request?  그리고 너의 요청이 무엇인가?

Even up to half the kingdom, it will be granted." 심지어 왕국의 절반이라도 허락되어질 것이다. 

5:7 Esther replied, "My petition and my request is this:

에스더가 대답하기를 " 내 간청과 요청은 이것입니다.
