Hello Taera!

Thanks a ton to take my Monday euphony class. Before the main comment, I would like to let you know how beneficial for you to take Monday euphony class. In my opinion, the fundamental purpose of learning English is to deliver what I want to say accurately to English speakers. That means we have to speak English not for us, but for them to listen well. In this point of view, we are also in need of improving our speaking skills and posture. In this class, 4 elements would be checked: Pronunciation, Accent, Intonation and Stage Manner. If you seize this opportunity, you could become a good English speaker. I guarantee that you would eventually accomplish this goal!

1.      [Th] sound -  [th]eir, [th]em

 [th] sound is weak. [th] sound is not close to [ㄷ]. Bite your tongue slightly and push the air. Refer the picture below! And also, check the sound at http://www.merriam-webster.com.

 

2.     [f] sound -  [f]i[f]th, pre[f]ace

[f] sound is also weak. I guess you already know how to make [f] sound. But as a reference, I will explain it. As the picture below shows, bite your bottom lip with your front teeth slightly and blow the air. In my view, you are in need of blow strongly. Even though you look like exaggerating.

     3.      [v] sound -  e[v]eryone, [v]olume

[v] sound is weak. Bite your bottom lip slightly and make vibration. In your case, vibrate as strong as you can. Even exaggerate! Refer the picture below.

    4.     Confusion between [l] and [r] -  [l]anguage, [l]ater

You have to practice [l] sound. [l] is not same with [r].

Accent

1.     [u]n[e]ducated

In terms of word ‘uneducated’, there are two accents. You missed the first accent [u]. Enter http://www.merriam-webster.com and try to follow!

Intonation

English has its own flow. And also, Korean has its own rhythm. In addition, Gyeongsang province dialect has its own Intonation too. As we are the Gyeongsang province people, it is natural not to be close to English flow. But as I told you at Intro above, the purpose of using English is to make listeners listen well. So we have to use English flow when it comes to using English. What I want to say is that we must practice its own flow. Try to listen audio file a lot and follow it!
