SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES - 2007

Trinity College has a number of opportunities in various posts for student summer employment in the Accommodation Office, at Trinity Hall and ancillary areas. A number of positions are available from mid May or early June through to the end of September.

During the summer Trinity College expands its tourism activity to embrace international conferences, summer schools, banqueting and the provision of guest accommodation in its 1800 residential rooms. Applicants should have an outgoing and flexible attitude, be articulate and self confident, and should be prepared to work varied hours according to the level of activity. Most positions involve working outside normal office hours. A brief description of the posts is given below .

Receptionists : Accommodation Office - Live-in : Front Office Receptionists in the Accommodation Office. Continental languages and previous service experience usually in a tourism enterprise is desirable. A driving licence is an advantage. In addition to guest reception duties, the positions also involve handling telephone, e-mail and postal reservations and other secretarial duties including assisting with student accommodation enquiries . Normal keyboard and PC skills are necessary. Applicants must be available for work no later than 5th June.*

Reservations & Enquiries – Live Out : Telephone/fax/e-mail reservations. Continental language and basic keyboard skills are necessary. Applicants must be available for work no later than 5 th June.*

Guest Services Attendants – Live in : The attendants will provide a porterage and information service to guests, including check in/out, equipment hire, baggage handlings and group check-in. A driving licence is essential. Language and keyboard skills are desirable. Applicants must be available for work no later than 5 th June.*

House Services Assistants College and Trinity Hall – Live in : House Services staff will undertake a range of work related to the provision of a service to summer guests. The main role will be the servicing of guest accommodation involving bed making, room cleaning etc. In addition HSA's will assist with the operation of a linen room and laundry service. Knowledge of a continental language would be beneficial to candidates. Accommodation is provided.

House Services Supervisor – College : House Services Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and maintenance of standards in the Goldsmith Hall residences in College.

Temporary Housekeeping Positions - College : General housekeeping duties in all College residences. Temporary positions available from mid May to end of June or mid May to the end of September.
