강가에 서서

차츰,

할말을 쓸수 없는 날에

유유히 내 생을 가로질러 흐르는 강둑에 나와

그대에게 편지 한장 띄워보냅니다

내 어릴적 놀던 그 강둑,

언제나 햇빛은 눈부셨었지요

나의 손바닥 위에 홀연히 그 햇빛 한줌

부서지는 아픔에 소소리 바람 입맞춤 하고

그걸 바라보느라 어느덧 해 저물었습니다

강건너 빈집에는 불이 켜지고

머리위엔 노을이 걸릴 때

강둑에 매어 놓은 나룻배 한 척

황혼따라 노 저으며 흘러가고 있습니다

어디선가 날아왔는지 물총새

동무되어 따라가고 있습니다

Gradually,

On a day when I can't write what I have to say

Coming out on the bank of the river flowing through my life

I'm sending you a letter

On the banks of the river where I used to play when I was young,

The sun was always shining bright

A glimmer of sunlight on my palm

Kissed the whirling wind in the breaking pain

The sun went down as I was looking at it

When the empty house across the river was lighted,

And the sun set over my head,

A ferry on the bank of the river

Was floating by with an oar in the twilight

A water gunfowl from somewhere

Was following along as its mate.
