산업이 바람에 불려 오르고 공중에 날려 흩어지며

  One′s family property is blown up into the air and scattered across the sky by the wind,

자손은 서리를 맞은 나무잎처럼 해침을 받아 

  and deesendants are harmed like leaves struck by frost.

부부는 외로운 위에 또 더하여 오른팔이 잘린 어린아이와 같은 모습이니
백발의 노인이 되어서 슬퍼 큰소리로 울부짖을 따름이다.

 The husband and wife, adding loneliness to loneliness,

  are like a young child whose right armhas been cut off;

  growing into white―haired old elders, they do nothing but wail aloud in sorrow.

産業은 風揚飛散하고 (산업은 풍양비산하고)
  One′s family property is blown up into the air and scattered by the wind,

子孫은 霜打殘葉하며 (자손은 상타잔엽하며)

  Deesendants are like withered leaves struck by frost, 

夫妻는 孤且孑하여 (부처는 고차혈하여)
   The husband and wife are left lonely and crippled,

白髮이 長呼哭이니라. (백발이 장호곡이니라.)

  And in their old age with white hair, they can only wail and cry aloud in sorrow.

 [Explanation, 풀이]

정성으로 착함과 깨끗함과 후함을 이루지 못하고

  Failing to practice goodness, purity, and generosity with sincerity,

악함과 탁함과 박함을 저질렀으니 그 죄가 하는 일에 우선 응하고,

  they committed evil, impurity, and meanness; thus, retribution first strikes their endeavors,

다음으로 자손에게 응하니  하는 일은 풍지박산이 나며,

  and subsequently falls upon their descendants.

  As a result, their work is blown away into complete ruin,

자손은 남에게 해침을 당해 죽었으며,

  their descendants are harmed and killed by others,

부부는 또 온전치 못하여 오직 홀로 남았으니

  and the husband and wife, no longer whole, are left entirely alone.

늙어 흰머리가 되어 통곡을 한들 이미 저지른 죄가 크고

  Though they wail in grief with white hair in old age, the sin committed is already grave,

더구나 그 죄를 갚을 시간마저 없으니 엎지른 물이 아니겠는가?

  and moreover, as there is no longer time to atone for that sin,

  is it not truly spilled water that cannot be gathered back?
