요한계시록 3:7 – (2) 다윗의 열쇠를 가지신 이(who holds the key of David), 열면 닫을 사람이 없고 닫으면 열 사람이 없는 그이가(What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open)

☞ <요한계시록> 3:7 - 빌라델비아 교회의 사자에게 편지하기를 거룩하고 진실하사 다윗의 열쇠를 가지신 이 곧 열면 닫을 사람이 없고 닫으면 열 사람이 없는 그이가 가라사대("To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. (NIV); And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; (KJV); "Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. ○ "다윗의 열쇠를 가지신 이 곧 열면 닫을 사람이 없고 닫으면 열 사람이 없는 그이가 가라사대"라는 것은 <이사야> 22:22을 인용한 것이다. <이사야> 22:15~25에는 여호와(야훼) 하나님께서 셉나(Shebna)의 관직을 파직하는(deposition Shebna from his official position) 내용이 나온다. 셉나는 예루살렘 성의 국고와 책임을 맡고(who is in charge of the palace) 있었는데, 셉나가 허락도 없이 마음대로 묘실(grave)을 팠고 반석에 처소(resting place in the rock)를 만들었다는 이유로, 셉나를 직위에서 쫓아내고, 그 대신 그 자리에 힐기야의 아들인 엘리아김(Eliakim son of Hilkiah)을 앉힌다. 그리고 여호와 하나님께서는 <이사야> 22:22에서 다음과 같이 말씀하신다.

☞ <이사야> 22:22 - 내가 또 다윗 집의 열쇠를 그의 어깨에 두리니 그가 열면 닫을 자가 없겠고 닫으면 열 자가 없으리라(I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. (NIV); And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. (KJV); I will give him the key to the house of David - the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them. (NLT)

○ 다시 말해 엘리야김을 예루살렘 성의 궁내 대신(the palace administrator)에 앉힌다는 것이다. 이 예루살렘 성(the City of Jerusalem)은 이스라엘의 통일왕국(BC 1050~BC 930)의 2대 왕인 다윗 왕(David, 통치 BC 1010~BC 970)이 건축한 성이다. 따라서 이를 다윗의 집이라 표현하고 있으며, 집의 열쇠를 엘리아김에게 준다는 것이다. 따라서 엘리야김이 집의 문을 열면 닫을 자가 없고, 닫으면 열 자가 없다는 것이다. 그만큼 책임과 권위가 있다는 것을 의미한다.

○ 아마도 빌라델비아 교인들은 이 구약을 줄줄이 꿰고 있었던 것 같다. 예수님께서 자신을 ‘다윗의 열쇠를 가지신이요, 열면 닫을 자가 없고, 닫으면 열 자가 없는 이’라고 묘사를 하신 것은, ‘내가 바로 너희들이 알고 있는 그 구약의 그 메시야다’라는 것을 확인시켜주는 것이다. [참고 - 클래식나라 - 김성수목사 요한계시록 강해 (25) - 빌라델비아 교회의 사자에게 편지하기를 (계3:7-12)].
