[밀부르가]

다윗이 성전 건축을 당부하다  The Assembly at Jerusalem

1  28  다윗이 이스라엘의 모든 지도자, 곧 각 지파의 지도자, 임금을 섬기는 각 조의 장수, 천인대장들과 백인대장들, 임금의 모든 재산과 가축을 돌보는 관리인들, 왕자들과 함께 내시들과 용사들, 그리고 그 밖의 모든 힘센 용사를 예루살렘으로 불러들였다.

    David assembled at Jerusaem, all the commanders of Israel, the tribal commanders, the commanders of the divisions who were in the service of the king, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, those in command of  all the king's estates and possessions, and his sons, together with the courtiers, the warriors, and every person of substance. 

2  그런 다음에 다윗 임금은 일어서서 이렇게 말하였다.

    "나의 형제와 백성 여러분, 내 말을 들으시오. 나는 주님의 계약 궤, 곧 우리 하느님의 발판을 모실 집을 짓겠다는 마음을 품고, 건축 준비를 해 왔소.

    King David roxe to his feet and said: Hear me, my kinsmen and my people. It was my purpose to build a house of repose myself for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, the footstool for the feet of our God; and I was preparing to build it.

3  그러나 하느님께서는 나에게 '너는 전사였고 사람의 피를 많이 흘렸기 때문에 내 이름을 위한 집을 짓지 못한' 하고 말씀하셨소.

    But God said to me, You may not build a house for my name, for you are a man who waged wars and shed blood. 

4  그러나 이미 주 이스라엘의 하느님께서는 내 아버지의 온 집안에서 나를 선택하시어, 영원히 이스라엘의 임금이 되게 하셨소. 주님께서는 유다를 영도자로 뽑으신 다음, 유다 집안에서 내 아버지의 집안을, 내 아버지의 아들들 가운데에서는 나를 좋아하시어 온 이스라엘의 임금으로 세우신 것이오.

    However, the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me from all my father's family of Judah, that of my father; and finally, among all the sons of my father, it pleased him to make me king over all Israel. 

5  주님께서는 또 나에게 많은 아들을 주셨는데, 그 모든 아들 가운데에서 내 아들 솔로몬을 선택하시어, 주님 나라의 왕좌에 앉아 이스라엘을 다스리게 하셨소.

    And of all my sons--- for the LORD ha given me many sons--- he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the LORD's kingship over Israel.

6  그리고 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨소. '네 아들 솔로몬이 나의 집을 짓고 나의 뜰을 만들 것이다. 내가 정녕 그를 선택하여 내 아들로 삼겠다. 내가 그의 아버지가 되어 주겠다.

    For he said to me: It is your son Solomon who build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him for my son, and I will be a father to him.

7  그가 지금처럼 나의 계명과 법규를 굳게 지키면, 나는 그의 나라를 영원히 튼튼하게 해 주겠다.'

    I will establish his kingdom forever, if he perseveres in carrying out my commandments and ordinances as he does now. 

8  이제 여러분은 온 이스라엘, 곧 주님의 회중이 보고 우리 하느님께서 들으시는 가운데, 주 여러분의 하느님의 모든 계명을 지키고 탐구하시오. 그래야 여러분이 이 좋은 땅을 차지하고 그것을 여러분의 다음 자손들에게 영원히 상속할 수 있을 것이오."

    Therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God: keep and carry out all the commandments of the LORD, your God, that you may continue to possess this good land and afterward leave i as an inheritance to your children forever. 

9  "내 아들 솔로몬아, 너는 네 아버지의 하느님을 바로 알고, 한결같은 마음과 기꺼운 마음으로 그분을 섬겨라. 주님께서는 모든 마음을 살피시고 모든 생각을 꿰뚫어 보신다. 네가 그분을 찾으면 그분께서 너를 만나 주시고, 네가 그분을 버리면 너를 영영 저버리실 것이다.

    "As for you, Solomon, my son, know thd God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and a willing soul, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the mind's thoughts. If you search for him, he will be found; but if you abandon him, he will cast you off forever. 

10  자, 보아라. 주님께서는 이제 성소로 쓰일 집을 지으라고 너를 선택하셨다. 힘을 내어 일을 해 나가라."

      See, then! The LORD has chosen you to build a house as his sanctuary. Be strong and set to work."
