[밀부르가]

6  그는 유다 백성에게 말하였다. "이 성듭들을 다시 세웁시다. 성벽과 탑으로 둘러쌓고 성문과 빗장을 만들어 답시다. 우리가 주 우리 하느님을 찾았으므로 이 나라가 아직도 우리 앞에 남아 있는 것이오. 우리가 그분을 찾자 그분께서 사방으로부터 우리를 평온하게 해 주셨소." 그래서 그들은 성읍들을 세우기 시작하여 일을 잘 마쳤다.

    He said to Judah: "Let us build these cities and surround them with walls, towers, gates, and bars. The land is still ours, for we have sought the LORD, our God; we sought him, and he has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered. 

7  아사에게는 큰 방패와 창을 든 유다 출신 군사 삼십만이 있었고, 작은 방패를 들고 활로 무장한 벤야민 출신 군사 이십팔만이 있었다. 그들은 모두 힘센 용사였다.

    Asa had an army of three hundred thousand shiield- and lance-bearers from Judah, and from Benjuamin two hundred and eighty thousand who carried bucklers and were archers, all of them valiant warriors. 

8  그즈음에 에티오피아 사람 제라가 군사 백만과 병거 삼백 대를 이끌고 그들을 치러 나와 마레사까지 다다랐다.

    Zerah the Ehiopian advanced against them with a force of one million men and three hundred chariots, and the came as far as Mareshah.

9  아사도 그에게 맞서려고 나가 마레사의 츠파타 골짜기에서 전열을 갖추었다.

    Asa went out to meet him and they drew up for battle in the valley of Zephathah, near Mareshah.

10  아사가 주 자기 하느님께 말씀드렸다. "주님, 강자와 약자 사이에 싸움이 일어났을 때 당신처럼 도와줄 이 아무도 없습니다. 주 저희 하느님, 저희가 당신께 의지하여 당신의 이름으로 이 무리를 치러 나왔으니, 저희를 도와주십시오. 주님, 당신께서 저희의 하느님이시니, 아무도 당신을 당해 내지 못하게 해 주십시오."  

Asa called upon the LORD, his God: "LORD, there is none like you to help the powerless against the strong. Heop us, LORD, our God, for we rely on you and in your name we have come against this multitude. You are the LORD, our God; do not let men prevail against you."

11  주님께서 아사와 유다 백성 앞에서 에티오피아인들을 치시니, 에티오피아인들이 도망쳤다.

      And so the LORD defeated the Ehioopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ehioopians fled. 

12  아사와 그의 군대는 그라르까지 에티오피아인들을 쫓아갔다. 에티오피아인들은 쓰러져 아무도 살아남지 못하였다. 이렇게 그들은 주님과 그분의 군대 앞에서 패배하였고, 유다군은 아주 많은 전리품을 거두었다.

      Asa and those with him pursued them as far as Gerar, and the Ehhiopians fell until there were no survivors, for they were crushed before the LORD and his army, which carried away enormous spoils. 

13  그리고 그라르 주변의 모든 성읍 주민들이 주님에 대한 두려움에 사로잡히자, 유다군은 그 모든 성읍을 치고 노획하였다. 그곳에는 노획 거리가 많았던 것이다.

      Then the Judahites conquered all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of the LORD was upon them; they plundered all the cities, for there was much plunder in them. 

14  그들은 가축 치는 자들의 천막도 쳐서 많은 양과 낙타를 끌고 나옸다. 그런 다음에 그들은 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다. 

  They also attacked the tents of the cattle-herders and carried off a great number of sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem,.
