惡(악)한 감정이 크면 그 應(응)하는 것 또한 커서

  When the evil(惡,악 -Eak) emotion is great, its response(應,응 -Eung)is likewise great.

그 형상이 부끄러운 그림자를 많이 드러냈다면 재앙이 소용돌이처럼 발뒤꿈치를 따라 되돌아오지 않겠는가?

  If its form casts many shameful shadows,

  will not calamity swirl like a whirlpool and return right at one′s heels?

백가지 귀신이 침범하여 두려움에 떨게하니 그 이름과 몸이 같이 멸망하게 된다.

  A hundred kinds of spirits invade and make one tremble with fear,

  leading to the destruction of both one′s name and body.

感於惡이 大면 其應也 亦大라 (감어악이 대면 기응야 역대라)

  If the resonance with evil is great, its response is likewise great;

形多愧影이면 禍不旋踵이리요 (형다괴영이면 화불선종이리요)

  If one′s form casts many shamwful shadows,

  how could calamity fail to follow at one′s heels?

百鬼侵凌하여 名與身滅이니라. (백귀침릉하여 명여신멸이니라.)

  A hundred spirits invade and oppress, destroying both name and body.
