[바이블 애플] KJV 흠정역 에스더2장

1. 이 일들 후에 아하수에로 왕의 진노가 가라앉으매 왕이 와스디와 그녀가 행한 일과 그녀를 치려고 칙령을 내린 것을 기억하거늘

After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.

2. 그때에 왕을 섬기는 왕의 신하들이 아뢰기를, 왕을 위하여 아리따운 처녀들을 구하게 하시되

Then said the kings servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king:

3. 왕의 왕국의 모든 지방에 왕께서 관리들을 임명하시어 그들이 아리따운 젊은 처녀들을 다 수산 궁으로 함께 모아 여인들의 집으로 데려다가 여인들을 지키는 자 곧 왕의 시종장 헤개의 보호를 받게 하며 또 정결하게 할 물품을 그들에게 주게 하시고

And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege the kings chamberlain, keeper of the women; and let their things for purification be given [them]: 

4. 와스디 대신 왕을 기쁘게 하는 처녀를 왕비로 삼으소서, 하매 왕이 그것을 기쁘게 여겨 그대로 행하니라.

And let the maiden which pleaseth the king be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so.

5. 이제 수산 궁에 모르드개라는 이름의 유대인이 있었는데 그는 베냐민 족속으로 야일의 아들이요, 시므이의 손자요, 기스의 증손이더라.

[Now] in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name [was] Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite;

6. 이 사람이 전에 유다 왕 여고니야와 함께 사로잡혀 간 포로들 곧 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 사로잡아 간 자들과 더불어 예루살렘에서 사로잡혀 갔더라.

Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away. 

7. 그가 자기 삼촌의 딸 하닷사 곧 에스더를 양육하였으니 그녀에게는 아버지나 어머니가 없었더라. 그 처녀는 용모가 곱고 아름답더라. 그녀의 아버지와 어머니가 죽은 뒤에 모르드개가 그녀를 자기 딸로 삼았더라.

And he brought up Hadassah, that [is], Esther, his uncles daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid [was] fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter. 

8. 이처럼 왕의 명령과 칙령을 듣고 많은 처녀들이 수산 궁에 함께 모여 헤개의 보호를 받을 때에 에스더도 인도를 받아 왕의 집에 이르러 여인들을 지키는 자 헤개의 보호를 받더라.

So it came to pass, when the kings commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the kings house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.

9. 그 처녀가 헤개를 기쁘게 하므로 그의 친절을 얻으니라. 그가 곧바로 정결하게 할 물품과 그녀에게 속한 물건들을 주며 또 왕의 집에서 마땅히 그녀에게 주어야 할 일곱 명의 시녀를 주고 에스더와 그녀의 시녀들을 택하여 여인들의 집에서 가장 좋은 곳으로 데려가니라.

And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, [which were] meet to be given her, out of the kings house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best [place] of the house of the women. 

10. 에스더가 자기의 백성과 친족을 알리지 아니하였으니 모르드개가 그녀에게 명하여 그녀가 그것을 알리지 못하게 하였더라.

Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew [it].

11. 모르드개가 날마다 여인들의 집의 뜰 앞을 거닐며 에스더가 어떻게 행하는지 또 어떻게 될 것인지 알고자 하였더라.

And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the womens house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her. 

12. 이제 처녀마다 여인들의 규례대로 열두 달을 지낸 뒤에 순서가 되어 아하수에로 왕에게 나아갔으니 (그들이 여섯 달 동안 몰약 기름을 쓰고 여섯 달 동안 향수와 여인들을 정결하게 하는 데 필요한 다른 물품을 써서 그렇게 몸을 정결하게 하는 기간을 채웠더라.)

Now when every maids turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, of their purifications accomplished, [to wit], six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with [other] things for the purifying of the women;

13. 이같이 각 처녀가 왕에게 나아갈 때에는 그녀가 무엇을 요구하든지 다 그녀에게 주어 여인들의 집에서 왕의 집으로 가지고 가게 하였더라.

Then thus came [every] maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the kings house.

14. 저녁에 그녀가 갔다가 다음 날 여인들의 두 번째 집으로 돌아와 후궁들을 보살피는 왕의 시종장 사아스가스의 보호를 받았는데 왕이 그녀를 기쁘게 여겨 이름으로 그녀를 부르지 아니하면 그녀가 다시는 왕에게 나아가지 못하였더라.

In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the kings chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.

15. 이제 모르드개의 삼촌 아비하일의 딸 곧 모르드개가 자기 딸로 취한 에스더가 순서가 되어 왕에게 나아갈 때에 여인들을 지키는 자 즉 왕의 시종장 헤개가 정해 준 것 외에는 다른 것을 요구하지 아니하였더라. 에스더가 그녀를 바라보는 모든 사람의 눈앞에서 은총을 입었더라.

Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the kings chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.

16. 이처럼 아하수에로 왕의 통치 제칠년 시월 곧 데벳 월에 에스더가 이끌려 왕의 집에 들어가 왕에게 나아가니

So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which [is] the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

17. 왕이 모든 여인보다 에스더를 더욱 사랑하므로 그녀가 모든 처녀보다 왕의 눈앞에서 은혜와 은총을 더 많이 입으니라. 이에 왕이 그녀의 머리에 왕비의 관을 씌우고 그녀를 와스디 대신 왕비로 삼으며

And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. 

18. 그때에 자기의 모든 통치자들과 신하들에게 큰 잔치를 베푸니 이것은 에스더를 위한 잔치더라. 왕이 또 지방들에게 면제를 명하고 왕의 형편대로 선물을 주니라.

Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, [even] Esthers feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king. 

19. 처녀들을 두 번째 함께 모을 때에 모르드개가 왕의 문에 앉았더라.

And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordecai sat in the kings gate.

20. 모르드개가 명한 대로 에스더가 그에게 자기의 친족과 백성을 알리지 아니하였으니 그녀가 그와 함께하며 자랄 때와 같이 모르드개의 명령을 행하였더라.

Esther had not [yet] shewed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.

21. 그때에 모르드개가 왕의 문에 앉아 있었는데 문을 지키는 자들 중에서 곧 왕의 시종장들 중에서 빅단과 데레스 두 사람이 분노하여 아하수에로 왕에게 손을 대려 하거늘

In those days, while Mordecai sat in the kings gate, two of the kings chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 

22. 모르드개가 그 일을 알고 왕비 에스더에게 그것을 말하매 에스더가 모르드개의 이름으로 이 일을 왕에게 알리니라.

And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told [it] unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king [thereof] in Mordecais name.

23. 그 문제에 관하여 조사를 하매 그 일이 드러났으므로 사람들이 그들 둘을 나무에 매달고 그 일을 왕 앞에서 연대기 책에 기록하니라.

And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.
