Revelation 3:7~13 - To the Church in Philadelphia - A faithful church of little power, Receiving Only Praise from Jesus

Revelation 3:7 – (3) Who holds the key of David, what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open

☞ Revelation 3:7 - "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. (NIV); And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth(KJV); "Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open.(1) / (1)Isa 22.22 (NLT)

○ As I mentioned <Isaiah> 22:22 in <Bible Matrix ⑦_228>, the ‘key’ is the symbol of responsibility and authority that can ‘open and close doors’. “When he opens, no one will shut, and when he shuts, no one will open” means that the authority of Jesus Christ is absolute. Of course, if you look at the <Revelation>, it is the angels who actually open and close the door with the key, but the angels move and act according to the command (or order) of Jesus Christ (John 1:51).

○ This ‘key’ can mean ‘the key of the kingdom of heaven’, but as I mentioned several times through <Bible Matrix>, the background of chapters 1 to 20 of <Revelation> is 'The Throne in Heaven’ as written in the chapter 4 of <Revelation>, the giant aircraft carrier spaceship set in the Asteroid Belt. As I already mentioned in <Bible Matrix ⑦_212> and <Bible Matrix ⑦_215>, it is said that souls in the kingdom of heaven (or paradise) were brought to 'The Throne in Heaven’ in the Asteroid Belt. So it is not ‘the key to the kingdom of heaven (or paradise)’.

○ Therefore, the ‘key’ is (1) the key to ‘The Thousand Years’ in the chapter 20 of <Revelation>, (2) As I mentioned ‘the keys of death and Hades’ of <Revelation> 1:18 in <Bible Matrix ⑦_141> and <Bible Matrix ⑦_142>, the key to death and Hades in <Revelation> 20:14, (3) the key to 'The New Jerusalem and Its Nations' in chapters 21~22 of <Revelation>, and (4) the key to write his or her name in the Book of Life that Jesus has. I think there are four keys like this.

○ As I mentioned before, Philadelphia was built in BC 189 by Eumenes II (reigned, BC 197~BC 159) of the Attalid Dynasty (BC 282~BC 129), the Kingdom of Pergamon of the Hellenic Greek Empire. At that time, Philadelphia was the city on the road established to spread the culture and language of Greece to Asia Minor, so it served as the gateway to the East as the eastern highlands.

☞ Thus, people of Philadelphia had the special concept about this majestic gate and the management to open and close by holding the key to the gate. Therefore, Jesus appears with dignity and authority that the One has the key of David, and when He opens, no one can close, and when he closes, no one opens.
