9:23 So the Jews agreed to continue the celebration they had begun, doing what Mordecai had written to them.

그래서 유대인들은 모르드개가 그들에게 쓴 대로, 자신들이 시작한 축하 행사를 계속하기로 합의했다.

9:24 For Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to destroy them

하만은 아각 사람 함므다다의 아들로 모든 유대인의 원수였으며 유대인들을 멸망시키려고 음모를 꾸몄고

and had cast the pur (that is, the lot) for their ruin and destruction.

유대인들의 멸망과 파멸을 위해 푸르(즉, 제비)를 뽑았다.

9:25 But when the plot came to the king's attention, 그러나 그 음모가 왕의 관심을 끌었을 때,

he issued written orders that the evil scheme Haman had devised against the Jews should come back onto his own head,

그는 하만이 유대인들을 상대로 꾸민 사악한 계략이 자기에게 되돌아가도록 서면(쓰여진) 명령을 내렸고

and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

그리고 그와 그의 아들들은 교수대에 매달려야 했다.

9:26 (Therefore these days were called Purim, from the word pur.) 

그러므로 이 날들은 그 단어 푸르로부터 부림이라고 불리어졌다.

Because of everything written in this letter and because of what they had seen and what had happened to them, 이 서신에 기록되어진 모든 것 때문에 그리고 그들이 보았고 그들에게 일어났던 것 때문에

9:27 the Jews took it upon themselves to establish the custom that they and their descendants and all who join them should without fail observe these two days every year, in the way prescribed and at the time appointed.

유대인들은 그들과 그들의 후손들, 그리고 그들과 합류하는 모든 사람들이 매년 정해진 방식과 시간에 이 두 날을 반드시 지켜야 한다는 관습을 스스로 확립했다.

9:28 These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, and in every province and in every city.

이 날들은 모든 가족들에 의해 모든 세대에서 그리고 모든 지방과 모든 도시에서 기억되고 준수되어져야만 한다.

 And these days of Purim should never cease to be celebrated by the Jews, nor should the memory of them die out among their descendants.

그리고 이러한 부림절은 유대인들이 기념하는 것을 결코 중단해서는 안 되며, 그 후손들 사이에서도 그 기억이 사라져서는 안 된다.

9:29 So Queen Esther, daughter of Abihail, along with Mordecai the Jew, wrote with full authority to confirm‎ this second letter concerning Purim.

그래서 아비하일의 딸 에스더 왕비는 유대인 모르드개와 함께 푸림에 관한 이 두 번째 편지를 확정하는 전적인 권한을 가지고 글을 썼다.

9:30 And Mordecai sent letters to all the Jews in the 127 provinces of the kingdom of Xerxes--words of goodwill and assurance--
9:31 to establish these days of Purim at their designated times, as Mordecai the Jew and Queen Esther had decreed for them, and as they had established for themselves and their descendants in regard to their times of fasting and lamentation.

모르드개는 크세르크세스 왕국의 127개 주에 있는 모든 유대인에게 편지를 보냈다. 그 편지에는 선의와 확신의 말이 담겨 있었다. 유대인 모르드개와 에스더 왕비가 정한 대로, 그리고 그들이 자신과 후손을 위해 정한 대로, 정해진 시기에 이 부림절을 지키라는 것이었다.

9:32 Esther's decree confirmed these regulations about Purim, and it was written down in the records. 에스더의 법령은 부림에 관한 이러한 규정을 확증하였고, 그것은 기록물에 기록되었다.
