Revelation 3:7~13 - To the Church in Philadelphia - A faithful church of little power, Receiving Only Praise from Jesus

Revelation 3:9 – I will make Satan come and fall down at your feet

☞ <Revelation> 3:9 - I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. (NIV); Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. (KJV); Look, I will force those who belong to Satan's synagogue - those liars who say they are Jews but are not - to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love. (NLT)

○ As I mentioned ‘the synagogue of Satan’ of <Revelation> 2:9 in <Bible Matrix ⑦_160>, the evil Jews had a powerful assembly and organization, that is, a synagogue of Satan. The seven early churches, including the church of Philadelphia, were expelled from ‘this synagogue of Satan'. The evil Jews forbade Christians to enter the synagogue, they accused Christians to the Romans of the Roman Empire, and they persecuted Christians.

○ The evil Jews ‘are liars’ (Revelation 3:9). The opposite of 'false' is 'truth'. In <Revelation> 3:7, Jesus says, “I am who is holy and true”. Not only the words of Jesus, but also Jesus himself means ‘the truth’ (John 14:6). In other words, it means the true Messiah. The evil Jews did not acknowledge such the true Messiah and called Him ‘false’. That's why Jesus called all those who did not recognize Him as 'liars as the synagogue of Satan' [Reference - Classic Country - Pastor Seongsu Kim's Lecture on <Revelation> (25) - Letter to the Angel of the Philadelphia Church (Rev 3: 7-12)].

○ Truth is light. In a word, this means that Jesus has come as the light (John 1:4~5, 3:19), but the evil Jews, the synagogue of Satan, loved the darkness and denied the true light and killed Jesus by hanging on the cross. So, who is the real Jew? the good Jew? This is the words of Jesus Christ, emphasizing that Christians of the church in Philadelphia are real Jews and good Jews.

○ 'The synagogue of Satan' appears in the church of Smyrna and the church of Philadelphia, which both had compliments (or praises) only. The church in Smyrna underwent persecution, suffering, and martyrdom from ‘the synagogue of Satan', but the church in Philadelphia overcame ‘the synagogue of Satan’, and finally Satan came and bowed down at their feet. What this means is that Christians of Philadelphia knew Jesus more accurately and preached the truth of Jesus more accurately.

○ The evil Jews, namely liars those who belonged to the synagogue of Satan, at first tempted, slandered, and persecuted the church of Philadelphia, but the service and deeds of the church of Philadelphia were righteous, true, and lovely, even though they were small, poor, and little strength, so the evil Jews eventually came and knelt down. As a result, the synagogue of Satan acknowledged that Christ loved the Church in Philadelphia so much.

○ From the point of view of Christian history, during this period (1788~1844), 'the synagogue of Satan' persecuted the missionaries sent to each country, but the method of mission was righteous, true, and lovely, even though they were little strength, Satan came and knelt down, and as a result, Satan admitted that Jesus loved the missionaries so much.
