SINGAPORE : The S$140-million Sentosa Express Train project is right on track.
Two of its four new trains pulled in to the Palawan Beach Station on Thursday.
Arriving straight from the factory in Japan, these trains are set to enhance Sentosa's transport system when they go operational at the end of 2006.
Each train can carry up to 184 passengers and it will connect the island to the Harbour Front MRT station within 6 minutes.
Sentosa says most of the new tracks have been laid and the stations are taking shape.
The Sentosa Express replaces the 23-year-old Monorail, which made its final journey in March this year. - CNA /ct
