Seminar by Spike Psarris
Apologetics Symposium
Cedar Park Church, Bothell WA
May 4, 2016
What is the origin of the cosmos? Creationists believe the Universe is
the handiwork of our Creator God. Conversely, atheists claim the
Universe made itself in a Big Bang event, roughly 14 billion years ago.
In this upcoming talk, former atheist Spike Psarris will discuss some of
the evidence against the atheistic position. He then will go further
and show that an atheistic approach to cosmology is self-contradictory.
Astronomy and cosmology are based on physics, which in turn is based on
certain assumptions about how the Universe works. The Bible affirms that
these assumptions are true. Therefore, a Biblical approach to cosmology
is valid. But atheism, when taken to its logical conclusion, denies
those assumptions. Therefore, an atheistic approach to cosmology is
invalid. Although there is much scientific evidence against atheistic
origins models, the problem for atheists goes even deeper than this.
Physics itself discredits an atheistic origin for the cosmos—and
confirms that it was created by the Lord.
About the Speaker:
Spike Psarris is a former engineer in the U.S. military space program.
He entered that program as an atheist and an evolutionist. He left it as
a creationist and a Christian.
Spike now writes and speaks on Biblical
creation. He has published six articles in Creation magazine, one in
CMI's Technical Journal, and is the author of the DVD series, "What you
aren't being told about astronomy” (
