기억 심기

김도환

메마른 가슴에

비 오듯 기억하나 내리면

촉촉해진

추억의 씨앗

하나쯤 가두렵니다.

밤이면 출렁이는 내 마음 창고에서

그리움 하나씩 꺼내어

봄빛 쪼이는 텃밭에 연한 새잎으로

피어나라고 기도합니다

높은 하늘을 날아오르는 종달이같이

위에서 내려다보는 부푼 꿈

갖게 해달라고

동녘 해 정기 받은

작은 나무 하나 가꾸겠습니다

Planting The Seeds of Memory

When a fragment of memory

falls like rain,

upon my parched heart,

I will surely gather

some of its rain-soaked seeds.

From the storehouse of my heart,

restless through every night,

I will gather my longings, one by one,

praying that it may blossom into a green shoot

in a small garden bathed in spring sunlight.

Like a skylark soaring high into the sky,

I wish to nurture a little tree,

blessed by the spirit of the sun rising in the east,

while cherishing the great dream

revealed from above.
