Overview of 2 Corinthians (1)
2 Corinthians is the expression of the apostle Paul's concern after writing the first letter.
1 Corinthians is a letter of rebuke and reprimand, so there is no other letter that is as childish in faith and deals with human problems as 1 Corinthians, and so frankly and specifically.
2 Corinthians is the letter that Paul wrote after writing such a letter out of concern.
Chapter 1 is about tribulation and comfort. The key verse is 1:18.
“As God is true, our word toward you was not yes or no.”
In Christ there is only yes.
God's word is surely fulfilled.
It is not something that we do, but something that becomes.
1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians are on different levels.
2 Corinthians contains many precious words of such a high level that it can be called Paul's autobiography.
Chapter 2 is about sorrow and joy.
The key verse is 2:14.
“Now thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.”
And chapters 3 and 4 are about the servants of the old covenant and the servants of the new covenant.
The servants of the old covenant are the servants of killing, and the servants of the new covenant are the servants of giving life.
As a result of many people visiting the church in Corinth, there were many divisions.
That is why 2 Corinthians contains many words about the character and qualities of the servants.
Paul clearly emphasizes the fact that the workers of the new covenant are servants of God.
A certain pastor told people to eat the word, but did not tell people what it is to eat.
How can we eat what is written of the Bible?
There is even a funny story about someone who was told to eat the bible at church, so he boiled the bible and drank it with water.
For Christians, what comes out of their mouths is an important point.
2 Corinthians 3 and 4 give a clear definition of God's workers.
It is more important than seminary.
In this age, we must learn the new covenant and eat the words of Christ, who is spirit and life, so that we can teach well among the many workers of the old covenant who are trying to teach well, and we must preach the words of spirit and life, so that souls can be saved by the grace of the redemption of Christ's cross, and teach them the truth that Christ, who is resurrection and life, works in them.
We must become one with Christ through the truth in the Holy Spirit and eat the spirit and life.
Cyber information must also be connected to big data by installing an app and downloading it.
In chapter 5, he speaks of the future hope of the workers.
The key verses are verses 14-17.
“For the love of Christ constraines us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all died: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Christians who believe in Christ as their Lord always count themselves dead to sin and alive to righteousness.
They recognize themselves as newly created beings by counting united the cross of Christ, and they live by reminding themselves that they are not in the flesh but in the spirit.
Since the Spirit of Christ is in me, I am not in the flesh but in the spirit. I always believe and confess that my body is dead because of sin, but my spirit is alive because of righteousness. (Romans 8:10)
I am a constitution that always receives salvation because the word of Christian is in his mouth and in his heart, believing with his heart and confessing with his lips.
They habitually say, “I die every day because I died with Christ and lived again.”
Because the Spirit of resurrection and life is at work in Christ, we live every time we give ourselves over to death of the Lord.
The Spirit and life of the Lord are manifested in our bodies and flesh.
It is a very important journey of faith until we believe, realize, and experience this. Many people believe in God in heaven, but they have vague faith in revering and respecting Christ in them.
So they miss out on this wonderful and amazing blessing and are dragged by all kinds of illnesses, going to the hospital and begging for help from doctors.
There are many pastors like that, so it really hurts.
A pastor said that he was suffering from slander from others and even received psychiatric treatment, it is wrong.
Wouldn't the psychiatrist laugh at the pastor, who is an expert in spiritual issues?
