Bible Reading - Malachi 2:1~9

2:1 "And now this admonition is for you, O priests.

그리고 이제 이 훈계는 너희들을 위한 것이다. 오 제사장들이여.

2:2 If you do not listen, 만일 너희가 듣지 않는다면 

and if you do not set your heart to honor my name,"

그리고 너희가 내 이름을 공경하는 마음을 갖지 않는다면 

says the LORD Almighty, 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하신다.

"I will send a curse upon you, 나는 너희에게 저주를 보낼 것이며 

and I will curse your blessings. 나는 너희의 복을 저주할 것이다. 

 Yes, I have already cursed them, 그렇다, 나는 이미 그것들을 저주하였다.

because you have not set your heart to honor me.

왜냐하면 너희는 나를 공경하는 마음을 갖지 않았기 때문이다.

2:3 "Because of you I will rebuke your descendants; 너희 때문에 나는 너희의 후손들을 꾸짖을 것이다. 

I will spread on your faces the offal(찌꺼기) from your festival sacrifices, 

나는 너희의 절기 제사에서 나온 찌꺼기를 너희 얼굴에 펴 바를 것이며

and you will be carried off(끌려가다) with it. 너희는 그것과 함께 떠내려갈 것다.

2:4 And you will know that I have sent you this admonition so that my covenant with Levi may continue," says the LORD Almighty.

그리고 너희는 레위와 맺은 내 언약이 계속되기 위해 내가 이 훈계를 너희에게 보냈다는 것을 알게 될 것이다. 

2:5 "My covenant was with him, a covenant of life and peace, 

내 언약이 생명과 평안의 언약이 그와 함께 있었으며 

and I gave them to him; this called for reverence(경건함) 

그리고 나는 그에게 그것들을 주었으며 이것은 경건함을 요구했고

and he revered me and stood in awe(경외심) of my name.

그리고 그는 나를 존경했고 내 이름을 경외함으로 섰다.

2:6 True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips.

그의 입에는 참된 교훈이 있었고 그의 입술에는 거짓이 전혀 없었다.

He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin.

그는 나와 함께 평화와 정직함으로 걸었고, 많은 사람을 죄에서 돌이켰다.

2:7 "For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, 

제사장의 입술은 지식을 간직해야만 하며

and from his mouth men should seek instruction--

그의 입술로 부터 사람들은 교훈을 구해야만 한다.

because he is the messenger of the LORD Almighty.

왜냐하면 그는 전능하신 여호와의 메신저(사자,使者)이기 때문이다. 

2:8 But you have turned from the way 그러나 너희는 그 길에서 돌이켜

and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; 

너희의 교훈으로 많은 자들이 넘어지게 했으며

you have violated the covenant with Levi," says the LORD Almighty. 

레위와 맺은 언약을 위반했다."고 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하신다.

2:9 "So I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, 

그래서 나는 너희가 모든 사람들 앞에서 멸시와 굴욕을 당하게 했다.

because you have not followed my ways 왜냐하면 너희는 내 길을 따르지 않고 

but have shown partiality in matters of the law."

율법적인 문제에 있어서 편파성을 보였기 때문이다.
