Bible Matrix ⑦: Historical & Scientific Views on Daniel and Revelation
Part 2. Revelation
Revelation 3:7~13 - To the Church in Philadelphia - A faithful church of little power, Receiving Only Praise from Jesus
Revelation 3:10 – (2) I will also keep you from the hour of trial
☞ <Revelation> 3:10 - Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. (NIV); Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (KJV); "Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world. (NLT)
○ The first, ‘trial or test’ means the temptation. As I mentioned in <Bible Matrix ⑦_39>, which introduced 'attributes of Satan or the devil’, the temptation is an attribute of Satan (or the devil), so the temptation is done through Satan. In other words, Satan always tempts (Reference - King James Bible Study - Revelation 3:10 - I will also protect you and save you from the hour of testing...). At this time, Satan is the devil, the dragon, the ancient serpent (Revelation 12:9, 13:2, 13:4, 13:11, 20:2), and the antichrists those who agree with and belong to Satan, including the kings of the Abyss-the sea-the earth and the false prophet (Revelation 13:1~18, 19:20).
○ The second, ‘trial’ means the test. This test can be done by LORD God, for example, the test of Abraham (Genesis 22:1), or by Jesus (Luke 22:28, John 6:6), or by Satan. However, over 80% of the test in the Bible are done through Satan (or the devil). Jesus also went into the wilderness to be tested by the devil (Matthew 4:1~11).
○ The third, ‘trial or test’ means the refinement, and it is often used by God the Father or Jesus to increase the quality and the value of the Christians' faith and deeds. In the Bible, ‘refine with (or by or in) the fire’ often appears (Daniel 12:10, Zechariah) 13:9, Malachi 3:2, 1 Peter 1:7, Revelation 3:18).
○ Looking at the judgments, or tests, or tribulations set by God the Father in <Revelation>, they can be largely divided into the following. (1) ‘Trial or test of Seven Seals’(c.AD 8,580~) as ‘the great tribulation or distress’ in the chapter 6 of <Revelation>, (2) ‘Judgement of Seven Trumpets of Seven Archangels’(c.AD 9,580~) in chapters 8 and 9 of <Revelation>, (3) ‘the last great tribulation’(c.AD 10,733~10,740) in the chapter 13 of <Revelation>, which will be the last one seven (or week as 7 years) of the 70 weeks as written in the chapter 9 of <Daniel>, (4) ‘Judgement of Seven Bowls of Seven Archangels’(c.AD 10,800~) in the chapter 16 of <Revelation>, and (5) The last war as ‘Armageddon War’(c.AD 11,700~) in the chapter 19 of <Revelation>, etc.
○ Finally, ‘trial or test‘ means the tribulation (or distress), suffering, and persecution. As I will explain in detail later, there are two tribulations in <Revelation>. One is ‘the great tribulation’ in the chapter 6 of <Revelation> and the other is ‘the last great tribulation’ in the chapter 13 of <Revelation>. Both tribulations occur at the time set by God the Father, and according to the program, the main culprits that cause tribulations are as follows: 50%~70% of 'the great tribulation (or distress)' in the chapter 6 of <Revelation> are Satan (or the devil) and death and Hades (belonging to Satan), and 100% of ‘the last great tribulation' in the chapter 13 of <Revelation> are Satan and the antichrists (belonging to Satan).
○ Among two tribulations, which one is ‘the hour of trial (or testing)’? As I will explain in detail later, it will be starting with ‘the Signs of the End of the Age’(c.AD 6,420~), and it will be ‘the Beginning of Birth Pains’(c.AD 8,579~)’, then next, it will be ‘the trial (or test) of Seven Seals’(c.AD 8,580~) as ‘the great tribulation (or distress)’ in the chapter 6 of <Revelation>.
○ 'The Signs of the End of the Age' and 'The Beginning of Birth Pains’ will begin with 'Sagittarius (or The Archer)(c.AD 6,420~8,579)' where ‘a man, with a bow targeting Scorpio, riding on a white horse’ appears (Revelation 6:2).
