유마경, The Vimalakirti Sutra, 불도품 3

譬如根敗之士      其於五欲      不能復利      如是      聲聞      諸結斷者      於佛法中      無有復益      永不志願      비유하자면 마치 장애인이 된 사람이 다시는 오욕락에 이로움을 회복할 수 없는 것과 같습니다. 이처럼 모든 결박을 끊은 성문은 불법 가운데서 더는 이익이 없고 영원히 뜻과 원력이 없습니다.      We are like persons whose faculties are impaired and can no longer satisfy the five desires. The voice-hearers, who have cut off all entanglements, are like this, for they can no longer benefit from the Buddha Law, nor will they ever have the desire to.  persons whose faculties are impaired; 장애인이 된 사람이 can no longer satisfy the five desires; 다시는 오욕락에 이로움을 회복할 수 없는 것과We are like; 비유하자면 마치 ~ 같습니다who have cut off all entanglements; 이처럼 모든 결박을 끊은 The voice-hearers; 성문은from the Buddha Law; 불법 가운데서for they can no longer benefit; 더는 이익이 없고 nor will they ever have the desire to; 영원히 뜻과 원력이 없습니다
