None of us wants to keep living in sin. 

But we can’t solve the problem by ourselves. 

The good thing is, God is so wonderful and loving that He didn’t just save us and forgive us

—He also promises to work in us as believers. 

God will replace all //that is negative and hurtful /with goodness and healing 

/if we allow Him. 

Will you let Him do that today?

So, I want to talk, I'm redeemed, I am rede..., that's a great song, isn't it?

Did you hear that line, I'm not what I used to be?

How many can say that, today, you're not what you're used to be?

How many of you would consider yourself, balcony and downstairs, I'm a born-again Christian?

Okay, great, great!

so, I want to address you, and if you're not a a born-again Christian, you can become one today,

because it's not hard to becaome a Christian, to become  born-again.

All you have to do is confess your sins, your failures before God,

and admit they're wrong and God's right, and ask for forgiveness,

and ask Christ to come into your life to be your savior and Lord.

and get a new center, instead of self, now Christ. that's all you have to do.

Then God does the work.

He puts His Spirit inside of you.

He forgives all your sins,

and now whether you live or die, you've got a great future ahead of you,

because we all gonna be in heaven.

Aren't you all looking forward to that day?

Some people are hoping the Earth will will turn around and things will get great.

I'm not a big believer in that .

and we don't understand the totality of the Salvation that God has provided for us.

this is, if you're truly born again you want to be more like Christ

in fact when you become converted to Christ your conscience becomes much more sensitive

and it seems like it's almost a losing battle.

that's the story of my growing up years being a Christian

things I wanted to do become more like Christ

the desire was in there and then..

and then just come to the Altar and say I'm sorry again

when I was a real little kid one summer they had special meetings

and my mother told me I got saved 17 times.

so you're always making promises and vows

and now Christianity becomes a vow religion you're making promises,

so that's where it's pointed out to us in scripture where we don't understand really what salvation entails,

so let's just start with this;

in the New Testament, the Bible says three things about salvation.

we were saved at a point where we put our faith in Christ.

we are being saved even today.

our Salvation is working out

and one day in the future we're going to be finally saved.

okay, the Bible says all the three things are happening.

so there was a day when we were born again.

we confessed our sins.

we put our faith in Christ and we knew I am a different person.

and then there's a way and a process called present salvation where God is working and

and we're being saved and kept from the evil one and the powers of this world.

 and then because we still struggle with our human bodies and our fallen nature

and self seeking, which is what we are left to ourselves.

one day that's all going to be taken away.

we're going to have a new body.

there'll be no more sin, no more temptation.

we're going to be with the Lord forever.

and that's what the Bible says is full salvation

how many are looking forward to that day?

nobody here lives a good enough life to go to heaven.

that might be one of the most important sentences in the whole new testament for Christians

because if you don't accept that and begin to trust that and investigate that

you're going to be struggling in your own strength for the rest of your life.

Christ through his sacrifice forgave all of our past.

but God didn't stop there.

he knows what a mess we are

so he said I'm not going to work with your mess.

this is why the law always failed in the Old Testamen

I was just reading in Ezra, Nehemiah, I'm reading through those books

Moses got the law and that was great and had glory 

and it changed nobody

read the whole Old Testament they're always backsliding,

they're always making Idols,

they're always sleeping with the Canaanite women.

and in the New Testament,
there is that Revelation that the law, the commands of God which are holy, have no power with us 

because of the selfishness of on my own heart and your heart.

so the law that was given was never meant to save anyone.

in fact everyone the Bible says in the New Testament everyone under the law is under the curse 

because the law says do it and you'll live.

but all have sined and come short of the glory of God.

there's none righteous, no not one.

no one can earn favor from God.

we have to believe and trust in his goodness.

that's what makes us a Christian today.

so, God seeing that the law was never meant to save anyone.

all those commands in the Old Testament couldn't change anybody,

the Salvation I'm going to bring is not only forgiveness of the past.

and the only way they can be like Jesus is to have the spirit of Jesus inside of them.

 I see some religious programs like, obey the law.

who obeys the law?

the Bible says, no one obeys the law.

 Oh, no, just obey the law a little more.

the law works this way;

once you break it, you're doomed,

you're damned forever.

 the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

don't try to fix it up by shedding a few tears.

only the blood of Jesus can cleanse us from all our guilt.

Don't Paul says, don't you know the church,

and then individually know ye not that you're the temples of the Holy Spirit who lives in you?

but notice, he's not just in us for it is God who works in you.

you learn to live a life pleasing to God and not pleasing to yourself or the culture.

not what your parents possibly told you to be or your culture
or your island or your country or your race.

no, he's not working with any of that.

he's working according to his will and purpose.

 he's got a plan for all of us

but he knows we can't fulfill it in our own strength.

it is God who works in you,

right now, today, God wants to work in every single one of us

in ways you and I can't even imagine.

God wants to move us from glory to glory, from faith to more faith.

so what does he do in us?

we are more than conquerors.

in other words the way you get rid of unclean thoughts is not fighting them.

it's getting filled with his thoughts.

the way to get bad plans out of your life is to get his plans, his thoughts, his desires.

well, of course, when a drunker becomes a Christian or a drug addict becomes a Christian.

they get new desires to live clean.

they never had that desire.
