Program Overview
The Electrical Engineering Technician program will provide a solid foundation in electrical and electronic theory and practices. Students will have exposure to a defined range of electrical functions, such as installations, testing, maintaining, repairing, analyzing and troubleshooting specific kinds of electrical circuits, equipment, and systems, under the supervisions of a qualified person. SETAS labs will provide extensive practice and ample opportunity to develop skills required to assume entry level positions in the industry.
Career Outlook
Upon completion of the program, graduates may:
- work as entry-level electrical engineering technicians in a range of employment settingsi n commercial, utility and industries using electrical technology
work in various electrical environments including those relating to power distribution and utilization; electrical power generation; transmission and protection; industrical telecommunications; electrical maintenance and installation; and control systems. The range of functions would be limited and under the supervision of a qualified person to ensure safety and compliance with relevant codes and standard practices.
