Bible Reading - Romans 2:22~29

2:22 You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? 

사람들이 간음하지 말아야 한다고 말하는 너희여, 너희가 간음을 하는가?

You who abhor(혐오하다) idols, do you rob temples?

우상들을 혐오하는 너희여, 너희가 신전들을 늑탈하는가?

2:23 You who brag(자랑하다) about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?

율법을 자랑하는 너희여, 너희가 율법을 어김으로 하나님을 업신여기는가?

2:24 As it is written: 기록된 것처럼

"God's name is blasphemed(신성 모독하다) among the Gentiles because of you."

하나님의 이름이 너희 때문에 이방인들 중에서 모독을 당한다.

2:25 Circumcision has value if you observe the law, 네가 율법을 준수한다면 할례가 가치가 있다.

but if you break the law, 그러나 만약 네가 율법을 어긴다면 

you have become as though(마치 ~것처럼) you had not been circumcised.

너는 마치 할례를 받지 않은 것처럼 되었다.

2:26 If those who are not circumcised keep the law's requirements, 

만일 할례를 받지 않은 자들이 율법의 요구들을 지킨다면 

will they not be regarded as though they were circumcised?

그들이 마치 할례를 받은 것처럼 간주되지 않을 것인가?

2:27 The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law 

육체적으로 할례를 받지 않으나 율법에 순종하는 자가

will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. 비록 너희가 기록되어진 성문법과 할례를 가지고 있으나 율법을 어긴 너희를 정죄할 것이다.

2:28 A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.

겉모습만 유대인처럼 보인다고 해서 유대인이라고 할 수 있는 것은 아니며, 할례 또한 단순히 외적인 행위나 육체적인 행위에 그치는 것이 아니다.

2:29 No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.

아니다, 사람이 유대인이 되려면 내면적인 유대인이어야 하며 할례는 율법에 따른 할례가 아니라 성령으로 말미암는 마음의 할례이어야 한다.

Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God

그러한 사람의 칭찬은 사람으로부터 받는 것이 아니라 하나님으로부터 받는다.
