The Old Testament reading for Sunday worship service will be Zechariah 9:9-10 and the New Testament reading will be 2 Thessalonians 2:11-15. The title of my sermon is “The Way We Were” based on the text Ephesians 2:1-22. 이번 주일 예배의 구약 성경 봉독은 스가랴 9장 9–10절이며, 신약 성경 봉독은 데살로니가후서 2장 11–15절입니다.

Zechariah 9:9-10

9. ○시온의 딸아 크게 기뻐할지어다 예루살렘의 딸아 즐거이 부를지어다 보라 네 왕이 네게 임하시나니 그는 공의로우시며 구원을 베푸시며 겸손하여서 나귀를 타시나니 나귀의 작은 것 곧 나귀 새끼니라

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

10. 내가 에브라임의 병거와 예루살렘의 말을 끊겠고 전쟁하는 활도 끊으리니 그가 이방 사람에게 화평을 전할 것이요 그의 통치는 바다에서 바다까지 이르고 유브라데 강에서 땅 끝까지 이르리라

I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the warhorses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.

데살로니가후서 2장11~15절

 2 Thessalonians 2:11-15

11. 이러므로 하나님이 미혹의 역사를 그들에게 보내사 거짓 것을 믿게 하심은

For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie

12. 진리를 믿지 않고 불의를 좋아하는 모든 자들로 하여금 심판을 받게 하려 하심이라

and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

13. ○주께서 사랑하시는 형제들아 우리가 항상 너희에 관하여 마땅히 하나님께 감사할 것은 하나님이 처음부터 너희를 택하사 성령의 거룩하게 하심과 진리를 믿음으로 구원을 받게 하심이니

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

14. 이를 위하여 우리의 복음으로 너희를 부르사 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 영광을 얻게 하려 하심이니라

He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15. 그러므로 형제들아 굳건하게 서서 말로나 우리의 편지로 가르침을 받은 전통을 지키라

So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

에베소서 2장1~22절

Ephesians 2:1-22

1. 그는 허물과 죄로 죽었던 너희를 살리셨도다

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

2. 그 때에 너희는 그 가운데서 행하여 이 세상 풍조를 따르고 공중의 권세 잡은 자를 따랐으니 곧 지금 불순종의 아들들 가운데서 역사하는 영이라

in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

3. 전에는 우리도 다 그 가운데서 우리 육체의 욕심을 따라 지내며 육체와 마음의 원하는 것을 하여 다른 이들과 같이 본질상 진노의 자녀이었더니

All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

4. 긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑을 인하여

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,

5. 허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 (너희는 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이라)

made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

6. 또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 하늘에 앉히시니

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

7. 이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리에게 자비하심으로써 그 은혜의 지극히 풍성함을 오는 여러 세대에 나타내려 하심이라

in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

8. 너희는 그 은혜에 의하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요 하나님의 선물이라

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

9. 행위에서 난 것이 아니니 이는 누구든지 자랑하지 못하게 함이라

not by works, so that no one can boast.

10. 우리는 그가 만드신 바라 그리스도 예수 안에서 선한 일을 위하여 지으심을 받은 자니 이 일은 하나님이 전에 예비하사 우리로 그 가운데서 행하게 하려 하심이니라

For we are Godʼs handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

11. ○그러므로 생각하라 너희는 그 때에 육체로는 이방인이요 손으로 육체에 행한 할례를 받은 무리라 칭하는 자들로부터 할례를 받지 않은 무리라 칭함을 받는 자들이라

Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)—

12. 그 때에 너희는 그리스도 밖에 있었고 이스라엘 나라 밖의 사람이라 약속의 언약들에 대하여는 외인이요 세상에서 소망이 없고 하나님도 없는 자이더니

remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

13. 이제는 전에 멀리 있던 너희가 그리스도 예수 안에서 그리스도의 피로 가까워졌느니라

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14. 그는 우리의 화평이신지라 둘로 하나를 만드사 원수 된 것 곧 중간에 막힌 담을 자기 육체로 허시고

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,

15. 법조문으로 된 계명의 율법을 폐하셨으니 이는 이 둘로 자기 안에서 한 새 사람을 지어 화평하게 하시고

by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,

16. 또 십자가로 이 둘을 한 몸으로 하나님과 화목하게 하려 하심이라 원수 된 것을 십자가로 소멸하시고

and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

17. 또 오셔서 먼 데 있는 너희에게 평안을 전하시고 가까운 데 있는 자들에게 평안을 전하셨으니

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

18. 이는 그로 말미암아 우리 둘이 한 성령 안에서 아버지께 나아감을 얻게 하려 하심이라

For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

19. 그러므로 이제부터 너희는 외인도 아니요 나그네도 아니요 오직 성도들과 동일한 시민이요 하나님의 권속이라

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with Godʼs people and also members of his household,

20. 너희는 사도들과 선지자들의 터 위에 세우심을 입은 자라 그리스도 예수께서 친히 모퉁잇돌이 되셨느니라

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

21. 그의 안에서 건물마다 서로 연결하여 주 안에서 성전이 되어 가고

In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.

22. 너희도 성령 안에서 하나님이 거하실 처소가 되기 위하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 지어져 가느니라

And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
