Hello Jake!
First of
all, I would like to say thank you for taking my Monday Euphony class. And It
is my absolute pleasure to study with you.
Let me
intoduce the purpose of this class briefly. This class is expressly designed
for helping the presenters in terms of their pronunciation and stress of each
word, intonation of yours, manner on the stage and so on and so forth.
And here
are some constructive and helpful comments on your presetation. I hope the
comments might drive you to the betterment.
<Pronunciation> (If you are not sure about the sound of any
words of its kind, I recommend that make a visit to the following website, http://www.merriam-webster.com)
I found
several words in which I think you made a mistake.
Here are some words that I
hope you to check in the m-w site. These are “April”, ”Tobacco”. Plus, I brought three words including “safer”, “user”, “centers”. These words contain
[R] at the end of their
sound but they are not clear in your presentation. Please be aware of these.
Lastly, the word, “estimated” has a bit of problem. When you spoke that word,
there was no [ED] sound, so called Ending sound, to be found. Please
keep this in mind.
<Stress>
The stess in the
presetation was quiet good.
<Intonation>
Overall, it
sounds like you are speaking the story the way you say in Korean. I hope you to
listen to the audio file and mimick the sound please….
<Manner>
First, why
don’t you start off your presentation introducing yourself briefly? It is kind
of basic skill for every presenter. Next, smile please. Wearing a smile is
must-have virtue of a presenter. Lastly, keep your movement in check. While you
deliever presentation, you kept moving. I guess it happened due to nervousness,
but it would distract audience’s attention!!
<ETC>
As I
mentioned in person, you are always in a hurry. Pleas stay calm. If you keep
hurrying, it does not give you much time to make a clear and beautiful sound.
Moreover, it would make your presentation easier to listen and understand than
ever before.
Here I
brought another tip. Together with the advices mentioned above, try to
understand the article, and deliever the story to audience as if you do to
children. I am sure that It will definetly make your presentation gorgeous.
And this is your mission.
Thank you.
