수송기 리투아니아, C-390 수송기 도입 발표

C-390이 잘 나가네요. 리투아니아가 도입을 발표했고, 아직 수량은 미상입니다. 

위키엔 3대라고 나와있네요. 현재 보유중인 C-27J도 3대 보유중입니다. 이 기사상으론 스파르탄을 대체하는 게 아니라, 전력증강 도입분이라고 하네요. 2012년부터 운용했으니 아직 퇴역시킬 때가 아니긴 하네요.  

리투아니아, 엠브라에르 C-390을 차세대 군 수송기로 선정

리투아니아 국방부는 엠브라에르 C-390 밀레니엄을 자국의 차세대 군 수송기로 선정했다고 발표했다.

엠브라에르는 2025년 6월 18일 발표한 성명에서, 이번 결정이 리투아니아의 작전 준비태세와 NATO(북대서양조약기구) 회원국 간 상호 운용성 향상에 있어 중요한 진전임을 의미한다고 밝혔다. 또한, 이번 발표를 계기로 자국 법률 및 절차에 따라 도입 절차가 진행될 예정이다.

도입 항공기 대수는 구체적으로 공개되지 않았다. 국방부 장관에 따르면, 항공기의 기술적 성능뿐만 아니라 신속한 인도 가능성 역시 중요한 결정 요인이었다.

국방장관 도빌레 샤칼리엔에(Dovilė Šakalienė)는 “신형 군용 항공기 도입을 통해 그동안 유럽 내 NATO 동맹국들 사이에서 부족했던 전략적 병력 수송 능력을 확보할 수 있게 되었다”고 말했다. “새로운 군용 항공기는 우리 군의 병력과 장비를 더욱 빠르고 멀리, 더 경제적으로 이동시킬 수 있게 해줄 것이며, 동시에 동맹 전체의 억지력 강화에도 기여할 것이다”라고 덧붙였다.

C-390은 리투아니아 공군이 현재 운용 중인 C-27J 스파르탄을 보완하며, 전략적 병력 및 화물 수송 능력을 한층 향상시킬 것으로 기대된다. 또한, NATO 임무 및 지역 내 집단적 억지력 강화에도 리투아니아의 기여도를 높여줄 전망이다.

The Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania has announced that the Embraer C-390 Millennium has been chosen as country’s next-generation military transport aircraft. 

In a statement, published on June 18, 2025, Embraer announced that this decision marks a “significant step in enhancing Lithuania’s operational readiness and interoperability within NATO countries (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and paves the way for the acquisition process according to national legal procedures and legislation.” 

The number of aircraft ordered was not specified. According to the minister, the choice was determined not only by the aircraft’s technical capabilities, but also by the speed of delivery.

“By acquiring new-generation military aircraft, we also gain a strategic troop transfer capability, which is sorely lacking among NATO allies in Europe,” said Minister of National Defence Dovilė Šakalienė. “New military aircraft will allow us to move our troops and equipment faster, further, and more economically, while at the same time strengthening the Alliance’s overall deterrence potential.” 

The aircraft is expected to complement the Lithuanian Air Force’s current fleet of C-27J Spartans and provide enhanced capability for strategic troop and cargo transport. It will also improve the country’s contribution to NATO missions and collective deterrence efforts in the region.
