디지털 신체성, 오류, 기능 장애 주제로 VR 퍼포먼스 선보여

[미술여행=윤경옥 기자] 팩션은 이탈리아 출신 미디어아티스트 리비아 리비치니(b.1994 로마) 개인전 'A-Perspective without Gravity'를 개최한다.

전시는 팩션의 첫 국제 교류전으로 4일간의 창작 레지던시와 4일간의 발표로 구성된다.

리비치니는 디지털 신체성, 오류, 기능 장애를 주제로 VR 퍼포먼스를 선보인다. 작가는 신체적 제약에서 벗어나 정신적으로 자유로워질 수 있는 수단으로서 ‘춤’의 가능성에 주목한다.

한국에서는 가부장적 가치를 풍자한 무용 장르 ‘여성 국극’을 연구하고, 이후 덴마크 코펜하겐의 리서치 플랫폼 시스터즈 호프 홈(Sisters Hope Home)에서 후속 연구를 진행할 예정이다.

리비아 리비치니는 현재 네덜란드 흐로닝언에 거주하며 작가이자 무대 디자이너로 활동하고 있다. 이번 전시는 네덜란드 흐로닝거시각예술지원(Groninger Visual Arts Stipends) 국제 부문 선정 리서치 프로젝트의 일환으로 마련됐다.

22일(월요일) 15시부터 토탈뮤지엄 프로그램 ‘월요살롱’에서 아티스트 토크가 열린다.

Faction is pleased to present the solo show of Livia Ribichini 《A-Perspective without Gravity》. Ribichini creates and embodies the concepts in mixed media practices. The starting point of the project is the research on the yeoseong gukgeuk(여성 국극), a non-traditional dance challenging patriarchal values. After reading Glitch Feminism from Legacy Russel, Ribichini started to discover the glitches and dysfunctions of the digital body as a free way of expression‎. Through residency & presentation at Faction, the artist can reflect on the idea of the future body, the dysfunction and theatre-dance as a healing moment.

Livia Ribichini(b.1994 Rome) is an Italian artist and set designer based in Netherland Groningen. The project is supported by Groninger Visual Arts Stipend Horizon, international grants for artistic research. She will move to Sisters Hope Home, an artistic research platform in Copenhagen Denmark for the project.
