On the evening of November 25, a post appears in a South Korean gaming community known as DC Inside, which is characterized by anti-feminism, anti-PC, anti-LGBT, and incel tendencies.

The post discusses a peculiar detail spotted in a new promotional video for the online RPG game MapleStory. It points out that the hand gesture of a female character named Angelic Buster appears to be unusual.

The claim suggests that this gesture symbolizes feminism and is meant to represent the stereotype that Korean men have very small penises.

At first, there's a fair amount of skepticism among the community members until several male users dig up and share numerous tweets from an employee at the animation studio responsible for the video, hinting at her feminist leanings.

Subsequently, users on DC Inside become enraged after analyzing the original drawings of the animation and concluding that the character's hand gesture mocks Korean men's genitals.

Korean men scoured her social media, and upon discovering that she had expressed support for feminism, they started lambasting her with claims that feminists deserve to die. Additionally, they began to allege that the animation studio, Studio PPURI, where she worked was incorporating 'symbols of micropenis' in their animations.

The male users expressed, "We can't forgive the act of feminist terrorism in a game predominantly played by men. Let's take down this feminazi bitch."

They meticulously captured frame-by-frame from promotional videos produced by Studio PPURI, in search of symbols representing micropenis.

Furthermore, they discovered that the singer responsible for Angelic Buster's song had retweeted a post in support of a Korean female voice actor who was fired and had all her work from Korean games removed just for being a feminist.

They bombarded Studio PPURI and the gaming companies with demands to fire the feminist employee, hurling a barrage of insults at them. Within a day, the gaming companies that had collaborated with Studio PPURI issued apologies for offending them with feminism and removed or made private all official promotional videos on YouTube. 

The female illustrator for the game "Eternal Return" also faced attacks from them, labeling her a feminist. In response, she posted a declaration stating that she is anti-feminist and opposed to feminism, and she apologized to the men.

Similarly, the female singer responsible for Angelic Buster's song issued an apology, expressing remorse for her support of feminism.

A female cosplayer, who was scheduled to take part in the official broadcast panel for Fate/Grand Order at the Animation & Game Festival, was banned from appearing after it was discovered that she had posted tweets saying "Only women suffer when they get pregnant" and "Those people can't empathize because they've never experienced the dangers women live with." "I felt proud after assembling a chair by myself, which I did after being triggered by someone saying 'fragile girls would find it difficult." She posted an apology for her tweets related to feminism.

Kim Chang-sub, the director of MapleStory, initiated an emergency live broadcast to clarify the "feminism incident." He stated, "It's a belief of blindly hating others without feeling any shame about revealing that hatred. I think the most important thing I have to say in today's broadcast is just how firmly opposed MapleStory and I are to people who secretly revel in exposing such a belief."

"We absolutely will not allow a belief that openly displays hatred for others and those who enjoy such a culture to defile MapleStory, a game that we dearly love and that rightfully deserves love from many more people."

"Regarding animations produced in collaboration with Studio PPURI, we intend to take down all videos known or found to be related to the feminist employee and conduct a thorough investigation. Even if it's collaborative content with no direct link, everything will be subject to scrutiny, and we will take the necessary actions."

Studio PPURI, the studio responsible for producing promotional animations for these games, issued an apology for causing displeasure related to feminism and declared their intention to fire a female employee who posted feminist support messages on social media. 

For the Korean export versions of Chinese games like Reverse: 1999, Honkai Impact 3rd, and Genshin Impact, hand gestures have been modified to prevent Korean men from feeling insulted.

During the process of enraged women bringing this incident to the media's attention, it was discovered that official illustrators for the game Blue Archive have been actively producing and publicly distributing drawings related to pedophilia. Among them, an artist known as ドロンタビ (Dorontabi) was confirmed to exhibit undeniable pedophilic tendencies by tracing over Japanese gravure magazines featuring actual children when creating child pornographic material. (While he is Korean, he pretended to be Japanese because illustrations of child pornography are illegal in Korea.) An investigation into his Pixiv account revealed he was heavily producing explicit pedophilic materials targeting pre-school girls (including depictions of actual sexual acts, coercive sex, genitals, and placement of items like randoseru and recorders that clearly indicate the subject being a child). Another official comic artist named 野際 かえで (Kaede Nogiwa) was confirmed to have created pornography depicting children being gang-raped. Upon this revelation, ドロンタビ (Dorontabi) deleted his Twitter and Pixiv accounts, while Korean men expressed their anger, accusing feminists of ruining games. However, Nexon, the company behind this game's production, only declared a crackdown on feminism and provided no explanation regarding these pedophile illustrators.

Due to these incidents, a protest condemning the misogyny in gaming culture is scheduled for November 28th. A threatening message was posted on DC Inside, warning of an attack on feminists at the protest.
