나무 막대기에 꽂은 당근  =  당근 막대기

설탕이 귀했던 중세 유럽에서는  단맛이 나는 당근을 넣어 케이크를 만들었단다.

제 2차세계대전 중   영국에서는 설탕을 아끼기 위해  배급정책으로 아이들에게 당근을 나누어 주고

아이스크림  대신 [나무막대기에 꽂은  당근( "carrot over stick" )]을 먹으라고 했단다.

당근(채소)을  핥아 먹으라니 그게  맛이 있을 턱이 없겠지.

그러자  영국 가정에서는 배급받은 당근을 곱게 갈아 반죽에 섞어서  빵을 구웠더니

당근향이 나지 않으면서도 은은한 단맛이 나는 당근 케이크가 좋아서  그것이  당근 케이크 레시피로...

An estimated 1,200 HNWIs were expected to leave the nation last year, showing millionaire migration isn't slowing down anytime soon. Popular destinations for these super-rich relocators include the US, Canada, and Australia, according to Henley & Partners. 

한국은 목록에서 틀림없이 가장 놀라운 국가 중 하나일 것입니다. 지난해 약 1,200명의 HNWI가 나라를  떠날 것으로 예상되었는데, 이는 백만장자의 이민이 조만간 둔화되지 않을 것임을 보여줍니다. 헨리 앤 파트너스(Henley & Partners)에 따르면 이러한 초부유 이주자들의 인기 목적지로는 미국, 캐나다, 호주가 있습니다.

Some analysis suggests this trend is a case of "carrot over stick"; instead of being forced to leave by unfavourable conditions in their home country, a growing number of South Koreans have simply become rich enough to leave, typically choosing Western nations with better opportunities and stronger global connections.

일부 분석에서는 이러한 추세가  " 당근 막대기"의  경우라고 제안합니다. 모국의 불리한 상황으로 인해 강제로 떠나는 대신,  단지 더 많은 한국인들이 떠날 만큼 충분히 부유해졌으며, 일반적으로 더 나은 기회와 더 강력한 글로벌 연결이 있는 서구 국가를 선택했습니다.

But it could be that increasing tensions with North Korea and the country's proximity to economically-struggling China, its biggest trading partner, are also encouraging South Korea's super-rich to pack up and leave. 

그러나 북한과의 긴장이 고조되고,  경제적으로 어려움을 겪고 있는  최대 무역 상대국인 중국과의 근접성이 한국의 슈퍼 부자들로 하여금  짐을 싸서 떠나도록 부추길 수도 있습니다.
