느헤미야6:15-7:4 도비야-여호하난

느6:15

"하나님이 다 하셨습니다!" 이 말처럼 옳은 소리도 없고 오용되는 표현도 없을 것입니다. 하나님이 다 하시니까 우리가 할 일이 없거나, 우리가 다 해놓고도 하나님이 하신 일로 정덩화할 수도 있습니다. 만약 이 표현이 옳다면, 이 말의 참된 뜻은 무엇인가? 하나님이 다 하시게 하는 방법은 무엇인가? 건축을 시작한지 52일 만에 성벽이 완성되었습니다. 한 사람이 노가다를 52일 동안 했다면 요새돈으로 780만원쯤 될 것입니다. 단 한 곳도 빈틈없이 허물어진 곳이 다 메워졌습니다.

아예 시작할 수도 없을 것 같은 조건이었는데, 두 달도 못되어 신속하게 성벽을 쌓았습니다. 백성은 환호했고 대적들은 두려워하고 낙담했으니 그들도 이것이 사람의 일이 아니라 하나님의 역사라고 인정한 것입니다. 하지만 성벽을 완성하기까지는 극심한 반대와 헤아릴 수 없는 방해가 있었습니다. 그중에 도비야의 반대는 느헤미야를 가장 힘들게 했습니다. 왜냐하면 도비야는 유대의 많은 귀족들과 관계를 맺고 있는 인물이기 때문입니다. 외국인의 반대라면 능히 예상할 수 있는 일이지만 동족의 반대는 때론 치명적인 상처를 줍니다.

그리고 동생 하나니와 충성스러운 하나냐로 하여금 영문의 관원으로서 예루살렘을 다스리게 했습니다(1,2). 느헤미야는 백성들에게 근무수칙을 정해줍니다. 해가 높이 뜨기 전에는 예루살렘 문을 열지 말고, 파수군을 올바로 세워 문단속을 하게하고 예루살렘 사람들을 경비원으로 세워 자기 집과 거민들을 지키게 했습니다. 아직 사는 사람이 얼마 되지 않았고 집들도 지어지지 않았기 때문에 예루살렘 거민들은 할일이 정말 많았습니다.(3,4) 하나님은 역사의 주관자이십니다.

하나님은 일을 시작하시고 자기 백성을 통해 결국 일을 이루십니다. 느헤미야에게 사명을 완수하기 까지 외적, 내적으로 많은 방해와 어려움이 있었습니다. 유대 귀족들이 암몬 사람 도비야에게 협조했던 이유는 경제적인 이득 때문입니다. 또한 결혼관계로 얽히고 설 켜 있기 때문입니다. 하지만 하나님께서 지켜주시고 도와주셔서 결국 이 일은 완성되었습니다. 하나님이 다 하셨다는 말을 우리는 어떤 뜻으로 사용하고 있는가?

방해자들의 공격에도 불구하고 하나님의 뜻을 받든 성벽 보수 공사가 52일 만에 완공되게 하신 하나님이여 찬양을 받으소서. 가정과 공동체가 분열 될 때 내 안에 가장 집요하고 교묘한 사단의 음모가 있다는 것을 알고 내 욕심을 쳐 복종시키게 하시고 느비딤 역할이라고 할지라도 내 위치를 잘 지키며 공동체와 더불어 살게 하옵소서.
