Acorn Tree
by D.J. YOON
An acorn tree has dropped
An acorn on the ground
For squirrels
The squirrels have no idea where the acorn has fallen
Mommy and baby squirrels at a loss
Just looking at each other
The acorn tree looks so pitiful for them
To indicate where the acorn fell
Her leaves keep shaking
shaking leaves
shaking leaves
Appreciation 感想
What a lovely and beautiful poem!
It reminds me of ‘the Giving Tree’, though its subject matter is a little different.
I feel peaceful.
I feel pitifulness of the acorn tree.
It seems to me that the sounds of shaking leaves are audible.
Though it sings about squirrels, it is odd enough for me that there are no squirrels in sight.
Though it’s very short, I see that it, without any unnecessary details, is well compressed, thereby showing the beauty of ‘simple.’
I would say
Nothing to be desired.
Nothing to add any more.
Oh, I feel my soul becomes clean and clear.
I see the sounds of shaking leaves.
*For reference, my soul isn’t a skin care product.
