잉글랜드 버밍엄에서 열리는 연례 행사 개막일에 개들이 도착한다.

🐶🐩크러프츠는 영국에서 매년 개최되는 국제 도그쇼로, 1891년에 처음 개최되었다. 케널 클럽이 조직하고 주최하는 이 쇼는 동종 쇼 중 세계 최대 규모이다. 크러프츠는 개를 위한 챔피언십 컨포메이션 쇼(개의 외양, 구조를 기준으로 순종에 일치하는 개를 선발하는 대회)를 중심으로 하며 주로 개 관련 상품 및 서비스의 대규모 무역 박람회뿐만 아니라 개의 민첩성, 복종, 플라이볼 및 음악에 맞춰 힐워크 대회도 포함한다. 알려지지 않은 개 영웅들을 기념하는 연례 인생의 친구들(Friends for Life) 대회의 우승자가 크러프츠(Crufts)에서 발표되었으며, 이 대회에서는 잡종 대회인 스크러프스(Scruffts)의 결승전이 개최된다. 3월 초 잉글랜드 버밍햄의 솔리헐 국립전시센터(NEC)에서 4일간(목~일요일) 개최된다. 대회 최고의 견인 베스트 인 쇼(Best in Show)를 선발하는 마지막 행사는 BBC에서 생중계한다. 우수견 선발 외에 어질리티나 플라이볼 등 개와 함께하는 스포츠 시범과 경연, 청소년이 개를 다루는 경연과 개를 다루는 자격을 부여하는 행사가 있다. 각종 세미나와 더불어 200종에 가까운 견종의 특성, 양육, 미용, 교육방법을 알려주는 등 개에 대한 지식을 습득하고 적합한 품종을 선택할 수 있도록 도와주는 프로그램도 진행한다. 이외에도 전시장을 꽉 메운 반려동물 관련 용품, 사료, 기념품, 견종 클럽의 홍보 부스는 많은 볼거리를 제공해 4일간의 행사를 풍성하게 만들어 준다. 2005년 영국 켄넬 클럽에 등록된 한국의 진돗개도 2006년 이 대회에서 관람객에게 첫선을 보인 바 있다.
