West Virginia is sending hundreds of its National guard members to the nation's capital as part of the Trump's administration's effort to overhaul policing in the District of Columbia.
Governor Patrick Morrissey announced on Saturday that he was sending a contingent of 300 to 400 to nearby Washington at the Republican Administration's request.
In a statement, he said they'll arrive in the district along wth equipment and specialized training services.
The move comes after Trump's executive order on Monday, shich federalized local police forces and activated about 800 D.C. Natioanl Gaurd troops.
