Bible Reading - Romans 9:13~22

9:13 Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated."

기록된 것처럼 "나는 야곱은 사랑하였으나 에서는 미워하였다."

9:14 What then shall we say? 그러면 우리가 무엇을 말할 것인가?

Is God unjust? Not at all! 하나님께서 불공정하신가? 전혀 그렇지 않다.

9:15 For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."

그가 모세에게 말씀하셨다.

"나는 내가 긍휼이 여길 자에 대해 긍휼히 여길 것이며 불쌍히 여길 자에 대해 불쌍히 여길 것이다."

9:16 It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

그러므로 그것은 사람의 욕구나 수고에 달려 있지 않으나 하나님의 긍휼에 달려있다.

9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: 성경은 바로에게 말한다.

"I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

내가 너를 세운 것은 바로 이 때문이니, 너를 통해 내 능력을 나타내고 내 이름이 온 땅에 선포되게 하려 함이다.

9:18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. "

그러므로 하나님께서는 자비를 베풀고 싶은 사람에게 자비를 베푸시고, 완고하게 만들고 싶은 사람을 완고하게 만드신다."

9:19 One of you will say to me: 너희 중에 어떤 사람이 내게 말할 것이다.

"Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?"

그러면 왜 하나님은 여전히 우리를 비난하시는가? 누가 그의 뜻에 저항할 것인가?

9:20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God?

오 사람아, 하나님께 반문하는 너는 누구인가?

"Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'

"만들어 진 자가 만든 자에게 "왜 당신은 나를 이와 같이 만드셨나요?"라고 말할 것인가?

9:21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

도공은 같은 흙덩이로 귀족적인 용도의 도자기와 일상적인 용도의 도자기를 만들 권리가 없는가?

9:22 What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction?

만약 하나님께서 자신의 진노를 드러내고 권능을 나타내시기로 선택하시고, 멸망에 처할 운명에 놓인 진노의 대상들을 큰 인내심으로 참으셨다면 어떨까?
