Summary of the Academic Forum of the China, the United states of America, the Korea,2018

At 11:00 am on October 18, 2018, Dr.Yijun Xu, Dr.Siu-Ngan Lam and Dr.Kam-biu Liu from Louisiana State University arrived at Shuangliu International Airport. At noon, Dr.Yijun Xu, Dr.Shaoyan Lin and Dr.Kambiu Liu enjoyed lunch at the canteen of Sichuan Agricultural University, together with Professor Chen Qibing, who is the dean of Landscape Architecture College of Sichuan Agricultural University， and other faculties that had been studied at LSU. At two o'clock on the afternoon of the 18th, faculties of both Universities negotiated a cooperation agreement and exchanged gifts. Taking the departments of both schools which are connected to each other as the primary point, further academic cooperation meetings were held, in which the short-term exchange visits and learning opportunities for students were the main cooperation intentions, and the divergent discussion on the mutual support of the both schools in various academic fields was discussed. .

At 8:30 in the morning on the 19th, Dr.Kyungku Shim from Korea arrived in Wenjiang, and visited Dujiangyan with Dr.Yijun Xu, Dr.Siu-Ngan Lam and Dr.Kam-biu Liu and students of the Sichuan Agricultural University. They inquired about the various problems of the Sichuan earthquake. With the careful explanation of Dujiangyan given by students of the tourism colleges of Sichuan Agricultural University in Dujiangyan Campus, they knew more details about the great hydraulic engineering that created by the brilliant founders of ancient China— - Dujiangyan Hydraulic engineering.

Dr.Yijun Xu,who once worked at Sichuan Agricultural University, introduced the hot pot ingredients and beef jerky products of Sichuan to others.

At 8:30 in the morning of the 20th, since Chinese representative Dr.Guanghui Zhao had been arrived at Sichuan Agricultural University, the Academic Forum of the China, the United states of America, the Korea,2018 officially began. The professors gave lectures of their research consequences respectively to the students and teachers. Dr.KyungKu Shim, who has been studied on hibiscus for many years, taking the selected the new varieties of hibiscus as a topic, and introduced  hundreds of hibiscus cultivars to the students.

Dr.Kam-biu Liu, known as the father of ancient storm science, with the theme of from storm deposition to disaster science. It was mainly about the storm deposition, and how to predict and assess the impact of future storms on human life and the natural environment by searching the ancient Storms. Students all found that it was easy to understand by the way which Dr.Kam-biu Liu explained his study to them, though he gave his lecture from the geological perspective which the students have never been exposed to it.

Dr.Siu-Ngan Lam, giving a lecture on her study of the resiliance of the community to natural disasters. Through a series of data comparisons between different cities, and combined with examples of relevant domestic fields, she explained to students the practical application of GIS law to the community's resistance to natural disasters, Measurement and eval‎uation;

Dr.Yijun Xu gave a lecture on the topic Inspiration from the affect of diurnal variation of carbon dioxide release on the surface of water to urban wetland environment research. Starting from the research results, he proposed that the release of carbon dioxide on water surface is greater than the night in the early morning period, which is very important for wetland research and environmental research;

Dr. Guanghui Zhao gave a report on the theme of Blue Star - Green Way - Green Heart, The Eternal Way of Ecological Environment, using his actual cases and drawings, such as Orlando Airport, to explain his unique insight into the environment for the environment to the teachers and students.

The wonderful academic reports of the professors brought a new academic research idea to the students of Sichuan Agricultural University. The students benefited a lot from this academic forum.

After lunch on the 20th, Dr.Yijun Xu, Dr.Siu-Ngan Lam and Dr.Kam-biu Liu from Louisiana State University conducted a cooperation and consultation with the faculties of Sichuan Agricultural University to further refine the cooperation projects and development direction. In the pleasant tea time, the faculties of both schools started the communication from their respective disciplines to the perspective of mutual learning. In the collision of knowledge sparks, both schools found a new path of discipline cooperation, soon LSU and SAU will follow up to sign the relevant contract.

    On the 21st, Dr.Siu-Ngan Lam, Dr.Kam-biu Liu came to Chengdu to visit  Du fu thatched cottage museum in Chengdu, Sichuan Provincial Museum and Chengdu Daci Temple in TaiKooLi. They also tasted famous Sichuan cuisine such as Mapo Tofu(sauteed tofu in hot and spicy sauce) and Kung Pao Chicken.

   On the morning of the 22nd, Dr.Yijun Xu,  Dr.Siu-Ngan Lam and Dr.Kambiu Liu set off from Shuangliu International Airport to America . The four-day Academic Forum of the China, the United states of America, the Korea,2018 completed successfully.
