Bible Reading - Romans 11:13~24

11:13 I am talking to you Gentiles. 나는 너희 이방인들에게 말하고 있다.

In as much as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, 내가 이방인에게 사도인 한,

I make much of my ministry

11:14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.

나는 내 사역에 많은 노력을 기울여 내 동족들이 나를 시기함으로 그들 중 일부를 구원할 수 있기를 소망한다.

11:15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, 만일 그들의 거부가 세상의 화해라면,

what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

그들이 받아들이는 것은 죽음에서 생명으로 나오는 것과 다름없지 않을까?

11:16 If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; 

첫 열매로 바쳐진 반죽의 일부가 거룩하면, 그 반죽 전체가 거룩하고

if the root is holy, so are the branches. 뿌리가 거룩하면 가지들도 그러하다.

11:17 If some of the branches have been broken off, 만약 나뭇가지 중 일부가 부러졌다면,

and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 그리고 비록 너희가 야생 올리브 순일지라도 다른 올리브 나무들 사이에 접붙여져서 이제 올리브 뿌리에서 나오는 영양분을 함께 나누게 되었다면,

11:18 do not boast over those branches. 그 가지들을 자랑하지 말라.

If you do, consider this: 만일 그렇다면 이것을 고려해보라.

You do not support the root, but the root supports you.

네가 그 뿌리를 지지하는 것이 아니라 뿌리가 너를 지지한다.

11:19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."

그러면 너는 말할 것이다. "내가 접붙여지려고 가지들이 꺾여졌다."

11:20 Granted. 그렇다.

But they were broken off because of unbelief, 그러나 그들은 불신앙 때문에 부러졌고 

and you stand by faith. 너희는 믿음으로 섰다.

Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. 교만하지 말고 두려워하라.

11:21 For if God did not spare the natural branches,

만일 하나님께서 원래의 가지들을 아끼지 않으셨다면

he will not spare you either. 그는 너희도 아끼지 않으실 것이다. 

11:22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness.

그러므로 하나님의 인자하심과 엄격하심을 생각해 보라. 죄인들에게 엄격하심을 보이셨으나, 너희들이 그의 인자하심 안에 머물러 있으면 너희에게 인자하심을 보이신다.

Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 그렇지 않으면 너희 또한 잘라져 나갈 것이다. 

11:23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, 그리고 만일 그들이 불신앙을 고집하지 않는다면 

they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

그들은 다시 접붙여질 것이다. 왜냐하면 하나님은 그들을 다시 접붙일 수 있기 때문이다.

11:24 After all, 결국(어쨌든)

if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature,

만약 당신이 본래 야생 올리브 나무에서 잘려져 나왔다면,

and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree,

그리고 만약 당신이 자연의 섭리에 반하여 재배된 올리브 나무에 접붙여졌다면,

how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

이러한 원래의 가지들이 얼마나 더 쉽게 원래의 올리브 나무에 접붙여질 수 있겠는가!
