상관접속사의 이해(2): both - and / either - or / neither - nor

상관접속사 「both A and B」는 ‘A와 B 둘 다’, 「either A or B」는 ‘A, B 둘 중 하나’, 「neither A nor B」는 ‘A도 B도 아닌’의 의미이다.

eg. They had both food and shelter. 그들은 식량과 은신처 둘 다 있었다.

      Take either a bus or a taxi. 버스나 택시 중 하나를 타라.

      He is neither clever nor wise. 그는 영리하지도 현명하지도 않다.

기초 예제

1. Both humans and animals learn by experience.

2. Either our claim gets settled or the deal is off.
