Good evening everyone.  The Old Testament reading for Sunday worship service is Exodus 6:1-8 and the New Testament reading is Acts 17:30-31. The text for my sermon is Ephesians 4:1-32. 출애굽기 6장1~8절 

Exodus 6:1-8

1. 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 이제 내가 바로에게 하는 일을 네가 보리라 강한 손으로 말미암아 바로가 그들을 보내리라 강한 손으로 말미암아 바로가 그들을 그의 땅에서 쫓아내리라

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country.”

2. ○하나님이 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되 나는 여호와이니라

God also said to Moses, “I am the LORD.

3. 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 전능의 하나님으로 나타났으나 나의 이름을 여호와로는 그들에게 알리지 아니하였고

I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself fully known to them.

4. 가나안 땅 곧 그들이 거류하는 땅을 그들에게 주기로 그들과 언약하였더니

I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners.

5. 이제 애굽 사람이 종으로 삼은 이스라엘 자손의 신음 소리를 내가 듣고 나의 언약을 기억하노라

Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.

6. 그러므로 이스라엘 자손에게 말하기를 나는 여호와라 내가 애굽 사람의 무거운 짐 밑에서 너희를 빼내며 그들의 노역에서 너희를 건지며 편 팔과 여러 큰 심판들로써 너희를 속량하여

“Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.

7. 너희를 내 백성으로 삼고 나는 너희의 하나님이 되리니 나는 애굽 사람의 무거운 짐 밑에서 너희를 빼낸 너희의 하나님 여호와인 줄 너희가 알지라

I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

8. 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 주기로 맹세한 땅으로 너희를 인도하고 그 땅을 너희에게 주어 기업을 삼게 하리라 나는 여호와라 하셨다 하라

And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD.’ ”

사도행전 17장30~31절

Acts 17:30-31

30. 알지 못하던 시대에는 하나님이 간과하셨거니와 이제는 어디든지 사람에게 다 명하사 회개하라 하셨으니

In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

31. 이는 정하신 사람으로 하여금 천하를 공의로 심판할 날을 작정하시고 이에 그를 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리신 것으로 모든 사람에게 믿을 만한 증거를 주셨음이니라 하니라

For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

에베소서 4장1~32절

Ephesians 4:1-32

1. 그러므로 주 안에서 갇힌 내가 너희를 권하노니 너희가 부르심을 받은 일에 합당하게 행하여

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

2. 모든 겸손과 온유로 하고 오래 참음으로 사랑 가운데서 서로 용납하고

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

3. 평안의 매는 줄로 성령이 하나 되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

4. 몸이 하나요 성령도 한 분이시니 이와 같이 너희가 부르심의 한 소망 안에서 부르심을 받았느니라

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;

5. 주도 한 분이시요 믿음도 하나요 세례도 하나요

one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

6. 하나님도 한 분이시니 곧 만유의 아버지시라 만유 위에 계시고 만유를 통일하시고 만유 가운데 계시도다

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

7. 우리 각 사람에게 그리스도의 선물의 분량대로 은혜를 주셨나니

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

8. 그러므로 이르기를 그가 위로 올라가실 때에 사로잡혔던 자들을 사로잡으시고 사람들에게 선물을 주셨다 하였도다

This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”

9. 올라가셨다 하였은즉 땅 아래 낮은 곳으로 내리셨던 것이 아니면 무엇이냐

(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?

10. 내리셨던 그가 곧 모든 하늘 위에 오르신 자니 이는 만물을 충만하게 하려 하심이라

He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

11. 그가 어떤 사람은 사도로, 어떤 사람은 선지자로, 어떤 사람은 복음 전하는 자로, 어떤 사람은 목사와 교사로 삼으셨으니

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,

12. 이는 성도를 온전하게 하여 봉사의 일을 하게 하며 그리스도의 몸을 세우려 하심이라

to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

13. 우리가 다 하나님의 아들을 믿는 것과 아는 일에 하나가 되어 온전한 사람을 이루어 그리스도의 장성한 분량이 충만한 데까지 이르리니

until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14. 이는 우리가 이제부터 어린 아이가 되지 아니하여 사람의 속임수와 간사한 유혹에 빠져 온갖 교훈의 풍조에 밀려 요동하지 않게 하려 함이라

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.

15. 오직 사랑 안에서 참된 것을 하여 범사에 그에게까지 자랄지라 그는 머리니 곧 그리스도라

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

16. 그에게서 온 몸이 각 마디를 통하여 도움을 받음으로 연결되고 결합되어 각 지체의 분량대로 역사하여 그 몸을 자라게 하며 사랑 안에서 스스로 세우느니라

From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

17. ○그러므로 내가 이것을 말하며 주 안에서 증언하노니 이제부터 너희는 이방인이 그 마음의 허망한 것으로 행함 같이 행하지 말라

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

18. 그들의 총명이 어두워지고 그들 가운데 있는 무지함과 그들의 마음이 굳어짐으로 말미암아 하나님의 생명에서 떠나 있도다

They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

19. 그들이 감각 없는 자가 되어 자신을 방탕에 방임하여 모든 더러운 것을 욕심으로 행하되

Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.

20. 오직 너희는 그리스도를 그같이 배우지 아니하였느니라

That, however, is not the way of life you learned

21. 진리가 예수 안에 있는 것 같이 너희가 참으로 그에게서 듣고 또한 그 안에서 가르침을 받았을진대

when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.

22. 너희는 유혹의 욕심을 따라 썩어져 가는 구습을 따르는 옛 사람을 벗어 버리고

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

23. 오직 너희의 심령이 새롭게 되어

to be made new in the attitude of your minds;

24. 하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라

and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

25. ○그런즉 거짓을 버리고 각각 그 이웃과 더불어 참된 것을 말하라 이는 우리가 서로 지체가 됨이라

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

26. 분을 내어도 죄를 짓지 말며 해가 지도록 분을 품지 말고

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

27. 마귀에게 틈을 주지 말라

and do not give the devil a foothold.

28. 도둑질하는 자는 다시 도둑질하지 말고 돌이켜 가난한 자에게 구제할 수 있도록 자기 손으로 수고하여 선한 일을 하라

Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

29. 무릇 더러운 말은 너희 입 밖에도 내지 말고 오직 덕을 세우는 데 소용되는 대로 선한 말을 하여 듣는 자들에게 은혜를 끼치게 하라

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

30. 하나님의 성령을 근심하게 하지 말라 그 안에서 너희가 구원의 날까지 인치심을 받았느니라

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

31. 너희는 모든 악독과 노함과 분냄과 떠드는 것과 비방하는 것을 모든 악의와 함께 버리고

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

32. 서로 친절하게 하며 불쌍히 여기며 서로 용서하기를 하나님이 그리스도 안에서 너희를 용서하심과 같이 하라

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
