" Hold Up Your Hands "

Brothers and sister last Sunday night. I watched a movie on a television. A robber suddenly attacked to an innocent passenger & asked him to hold up his hands. Then robber took all the assets of passenger. Brothers and sisters same kind of thing devil is doing in our lives. Devil is walking around us to attack. Devil suddenly attack and command us "hold up your hands" and he snatch all of our faith and blessings.

1st. Peter 5 : 8

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Dear friends, we don't have to hold up our hands before devil to lose. But we have to hold up our hands before God to have victory. Friends, in today's scripture devil attacked on Israelites in the form of Amalekites. Moses did not held up his hands before Amalekites but he did a wonderful things as usual he did. He held up his hands before God. And God gave victory to Israelites over Amalekites.

Exodus 17 : 11

As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.

Dear brothers and sisters, we can learn several lessons from this short story. Let's hold up our hands before God to have victory over our problems. Not to devil

1. There are many kinds of barriers in our life.

Friends, God heard the cries of Israelites and commanded to Moses to rescued Israelites from the hand of Egyptians and king Pharaoh. But king hardened his heart and he didn't allowed Israelites. They were living as slave. It was very easy for God to rescue His people but God want to tell Egyptians and all the nations who were live around the Egypt. That God is Almighty and He can do anything what He want.

Malachi 1 : 11

My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to My name,

because My name will be great among the nations,' says the LORD Almighty.

2ndly, on the way to the promised land Israelites suffered a lot. On the way there was no water, no good food, no shelter. But by the grace of God. God supplied everything. Sometimes God punished them. It's not because God hate them. But it's because God love His people and want to teach them a lesson. To make their faith strong.

Proverbs 3 : 12

because the LORD disciplines those He loves, as a father the son he delights in.

God was on Israelites side. It doesn't mean that they can do what they want. God taught them a lesson time to time. The people who don't gave thanks and grumbled God. God punished and killed them. So, we've to give thanks in all circumstances instead grumbling. Maybe, today there is an obstacle in our ways. Give thanks than grumble. Maybe, obstacle or barrier is from God to teach us a lesson.

1st. Corinthians 10 : 13

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

2. We must trust in God at any time.

The Amalekites were very strong, well skilled and wicked. Israelites were very weak and untrained. They have no weapons, and no well trained army. If Israelites or Moses trusted in their army. They must be defeated. Moses wasn't stupid. He knew how to do and what to do? He only trusted in the living God as he did in the past. He lifted up his eyes on God & held his hands before God to ask salvation from Amalekites. Moses didn't seek man's help. Moses prayed & seek the help of God.

Exodus 17 : 11

As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.

We've to remember Moses prayed and commanded Joshua to fight. Only pray isnt' enough. Pray and move. God help those who help themselves. Ask, seek and knock.

3. Jesus is the way to communicate with God

When Moses stood to pray, he caught God's staff. It was a kind of mediator between God and Moses. Moses did all his work through that staff. Moses divided the sea with staff, he stroke the rock and water came out. Moses was very weak and timid. But when he had the staff in his hand. He was not weak and timid any more. He became very strong like Samson. Their is a meaningful lesson in this.

Exodus 17 : 9

Moses said to Joshua, 'Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.'

We must remind that staff made from wood and is given by God. So to speak, It indicates the Cross of Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God. Our Prayers can be accepted through Him. We are very weak and timid. But If we have Jesus with us. We are not weak and timid any more. Jesus is All in all and He can do everything what He want. So we've to remember that Jesus is our strength in our weaknesses.

Conclusion :-

Friends, do you have any problem on your way? As the Israelites met a strong enemy like Amalekites? Don‘t be afraid. Assure God's love for you! Trust in Him! and Pray through Jesus Christ. Then You will overcome all your problems and sufferings.

Psalms 50 : 15

and call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.

Matthew 11 : 28

'Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Pray :-

Father God the difficulties what we have toady in our lives. We are unable to overcome. Please give us power, strength and wisdom to handle and overcome. Holy Spirit guide us and please help in our ways. --- Pray in Jesus name. Amen.

-- “ 손을 드십시오 ” --

지난 주일 밤에 텔레비전에서 영화를 보았습니다. 강도가 갑자기 죄 없는 승객을 공격하여 손을 들라고 요구한 다음 승객들의 재산을 모두 가져갔습니다. 우리 삶에서도 사탄은 이와 같은 일을 하고 있습니다. 사탄은 공격하려고 우리 주위로 다가오고 있습니다. 갑자기 공격하여 우리에게 ‘손을 들라’고 명령하고 우리의 믿음과 축복을 가로챕니다.

베드로전서 5 : 8

근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니

우리는 사탄 앞에서 패배의 손을 들지 말아야 합니다. 하나님 앞에서 승리를 얻기 위해 손을 들어야 합니다. 오늘의 말씀에서 사탄은 아말렉이라는 형상으로 이스라엘 백성들을 공격합니다. 모세는 아말렉 앞에 손을 들지 않고 그가 평소하던 것처럼 멋진 일을 행했습니다. 그는 하나님 앞에 손을 들었고 하나님은 이스라엘 백성에게 아말렉을 이기는 승리를 주셨습니다.

출애굽기 17 : 11

모세가 손을 들면 이스라엘이 이기고 손을 내리면 아말렉이 이기더니

이 짧은 이야기에서 몇 가지 교훈을 배울 수 있습니다. 문제를 이기고 승리를 얻기 위해 사탄이 아닌 하나님 앞에 손을 듭시다.

1. 우리 삶에 많은 장벽이 있습니다.

하나님은 이스라엘 백성들의 부르짖음을 들으시고 애굽 왕 바로의 손에서 이스라엘을 구하라고 모세에게 명령하셨습니다. 하지만 왕은 마음이 완고해서 노예로 살고 있는 이스라엘 백성에게 허락하지 않았습니다. 하나님께는 그의 백성을 구하는 것이 매우 쉬운 일입니다. 하지만 애굽과 애굽 주변에 살고 있는 모든 민족에게 하나님은 전능하시며 그가 원하는 것은 무엇이든지 할 수 있음을 말하고자 하셨습니다.

말라기 1 : 11

만군의 여호와가 이르노라 해 뜨는 곳에서부터 해 지는 곳까지의 이방 민족 중에서 내 이름이 크게 될 것이라 각처에서 내 이름을 위하여 분향하며 깨끗한 제물을 드리리니 이는 내 이름이 이방 민족 중에서 크게 될 것임이니라

약속의 땅으로 가는 도중에 하나님은 이스라엘 백성에게 많은 것을 공급하셨습니다. 물, 좋은 음식과 집이 없었지만 하나님의 은혜로 모든 것을 공급하셨습니다. 때때로 하나님은 그들을 벌하시지만 그들을 미워해서가 아니라 그의 백성을 사랑하셔서 믿음을 강하게 하려는 교훈을 가르치기 위한 것입니다.

잠언 3 : 12

대저 여호와께서 그 사랑하시는 자를 징계하시기를 마치 아비가 그 기뻐하는 아들을 징계함 같이 하시느니라

하나님은 이스라엘편에 계십니다. 이는 그들이 원하는 대로 할 수 있다는 뜻이 아니고 하나님은 매번 교훈을 가르치십니다. 하나님께 감사하지 않고 불평하는 사람들을 벌하시고 죽였습니다. 우리는 불평대신 어떤 상황에서도 감사해야 합니다. 오늘 우리에게 장애물이 있다면 불평대신 감사하십시오. 장애나 장벽은 우리에게 교훈을 가르칩니다.

고린도전서 10 : 13

사람이 감당할 시험 밖에는 너희가 당한 것이 없나니 오직 하나님은 미쁘사 너희가 감당하지 못할 시험 당함을 허락하지 아니하시고 시험 당할 즈음에 또한 피할 길을 내사 너희로 능히 감당하게 하시느니라

2. 언제든지 하나님을 신뢰해야 합니다.

아말렉은 매우 강하고 잘 훈련되고 사나웠습니다. 이스라엘 백성은 매우 약하고 훈련되지 않았습니다. 그들은 무기도 없고 잘 훈련된 군대도 없었습니다. 이스라엘 백성이나 모세가 그들의 군대를 의지했다면 그들은 틀림없이 패배했을 것입니다. 모세는 어리석지 않았습니다. 그는 어떻게 하고 무엇을 할지를 알았습니다. 그는 과거에 했던 것처럼 오로지 살아계신 하나님만을 의지했습니다. 아말렉으로부터 구원을 요청하기 위해 눈을 들어 하나님을 바라보고 하나님 앞에 손을 들었습니다. 모세는 사람의 도움을 찾지 않았고 기도하며 하나님의 도움을 구했습니다.

출애굽기 17 : 11

모세가 손을 들면 이스라엘이 이기고 손을 내리면 아말렉이 이기더니

모세는 기도하며 여호수아에게 싸우라고 명령했던 것을 기억해야 합니다. 기도만이 다가 아닙니다. 기도하고 행하십시오. 하나님은 스스로 돕는 자를 도우십니다. 구하고 찾고 두드리십시오.

3. 예수님은 하나님과 소통하는 길입니다.

모세가 기도하려고 섰을 때 하나님의 지팡이를 잡았습니다. 이것은 하나님과 모세사이의 매개체같은 것입니다. 모세는 모든 일을 그 지팡이를 통해서 했습니다. 지팡이로 바다를 가르고, 바위를 쳐서 물이 나오게 했습니다. 모세는 약하고 소심하지만 그의 손에 지팡이를 가지고 있을 때 그는 더 이상 약하고 소심하지 않았습니다. 그는 삼손처럼 매우 강하게 되었습니다. 여기에 뜻깊은 교훈이 있습니다.

출애굽기 17 : 9

모세가 여호수아에게 이르되 우리를 위하여 사람들을 택하여 나가서 아말렉과 싸우라 내일 내가 하나님의 지팡이를 손에 잡고 산꼭대기에 서리라

하나님께서 주신 나무로 된 지팡이를 기억해야 합니다. 다시 말해 이것은 예수님의 십자가를 나타냅니다. 예수님은 하나님께로 가는 길입니다. 우리의 기도는 그를 통해서 받아들여집니다. 우리는 매우 약하고 자신이 없지만 예수님이 우리와 함께 하시면 우리는 더 이상 약하고 소심하지 않습니다. 예수님은 모든 것되시며 그가 원하는 모든 것을 하실 수 있습니다. 예수님은 우리의 약함 중에 힘이심을 기억해야 합니다.

결론 :-

이스라엘 백성들이 아말렉같은 강한 적을 만난 것처럼 여러분에게 어떤 문제가 있습니까? 두려워하지 마십시오. 여러분을 향한 하나님의 사랑을 확신하십시오!

그를 믿으십시오! 예수 그리스도를 통해서 기도하십시오. 그러면 여러분의 모든 문제와 고난을 이길 것입니다.

시편50 : 15

환난 날에 나를 부르라 내가 너를 건지리니 네가 나를 영화롭게 하리로다.

마태복음 11 : 28

수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라

기도 :-

하나님 아버지, 오늘 우리 삶에 가지고 있는 어려움을 우리는 이길 수 없습니다. 우리에게 처리하고 이길 수 있는 능력과 힘과 지혜를 주옵소서. 성령이 우리 길을 인도하시고 도와 주옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
