Section 27 ; Hyu - san(休算,휴산)... Ceasing Calculation... Item 32.
Hyu(休,휴) means to undervalue or stop(歇,헐), and San(算,산) means to calculate or court.
If a person who wishes to offer sincerity constantly calculates the time―
counting from the very day they started to the moment it will end― and sighs, saying,
"Why is there no spiritual response or reward at all?",
this is functionally the same as having no sincerity whatsoever.
To truly remain ceaseless in Sincerity means that you do not calculate when you began,
nor do you count down to when you will finish.
[Original Ciassical Text]
Hyu is to pause/ rest(歇,헐), and San is to calculate(計,계).
Those who practice sincerity with an underlying desire or motive
will immediately calculate from the day they started,
saying, "When will this be completed?" and complaining,
"Why is there still no response ot resonance?"
This is identical to a total lack of sincerity.
Thus, one whose sincerity never rests dose not count the year their sincerity began,
nor do they calculate the year it will end.
『 Hyu(休,휴) means to pause or let go, and san(算,산) means to calculate or measure.
When someone attempts to cultivate Sincerity but constantly keeps score― consting
every single day grom the moment they began and anxiously looking toward the end,
only to lament, 'Why haven′t I received any response or sign from the universe yet?'
― their efforts are completely hollow.
Such an attitude is no different from having no sincerity at all.
True, ceaseless Sincerity is entirely unconditional.
It means immersing yourself so deeply that you do not count the days since you started,
nor do you look forwardd to a designated end date.
You simply embody the practice without calculating its price or profit." 』
