Column - the Eight Beatitudes
1. The Sermon on the Mount is called the Magna Carta of the citizens of heaven.
It is not a mere code of ethics for so-called believers who believe in Jesus and go to heaven.
This is the absolute ethics of Christians who have become heaven.
For those who shout the slogan of believing in Jesus, obeying His words, and becoming like Him, the Eight Beatitudes are far away.
No, it's a story from the village across from the cross of Christ.
For those who believe in Jesus and live by His words, the Eight Beatitudes will undoubtedly sound like a duty.
It is the law.
They are under death.
The shooting of death is sin.
The power of sin is the law (1 Corinthians 15:56).
They are sinners belonging to the flesh.
2. The Eight Beatitudes are not for those who seek solutions to their problems and situations, like the countless crowds at below the mountain.
These are words given only to the disciples who followed the Lord up the mountain.
Therefore, the Sermon on the Mount is fulfilled only when one is born again, and the righteousness is not achieved by practicing the law, but we become to love God through the righteousness of the law being fulfilled.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 4:17).
Therefore, when Jesus said, "Follow me," Peter and Andrew abandoned their nets, and James and John left their boat and their father to follow Jesus, this was repentance toward the Lord's word.
3. Only those who believe in the atoning grace of Jesus Christ's cross, follow it, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through repentance and baptism, truly feel poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3).
For those who belong to the flesh to long for the Holy Spirit is like a manicure for an worm.
The movement of the Holy Spirit in those who belong to the flesh is a gifts movement resulting from the manifestation of the Holy Spirit from the outside.
This will likely be a heart unrelated to the Eight Beatitudes throughout life.
Check someone next to you.
The Holy Spirit of truth descends into those who have accepted by faith the Word that we were captured by Jesus' death on the cross, resurrection, and ascension, and truly repented , and we earnestly appeals to our spiritual hunger within us.
This is not about power or gifts, but rather a hunger for existence.
4. Therefore, the poor in spirit are blessed with the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:3)
It is not a future kingdom of heaven , but a present kingdom of heaven.
Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).
Look with fondness at the face of this kingdom of heaven.
Of course, we mourn the disparity between inside and outside (Matthew 5:4).
We groan for redemption from the flesh (Romans 8:23).
It is a struggle not for possessions but for existence.
The Holy Spirit comforts us. Like Noah...
We deny ourselves and take up our crosses in a struggle to escape our old selves.
The field of the heart changes.
It is a fertile soil connected to the new heaven.
From that time on, we long for the Lord, righteousness, and eagerly wait for his appearing in our heart.(Matthew 5:6)
We know that whoever believes in the Lord will never be put to shame, and whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be rich (Romans 10:11-12).
We experience fullness.
5. Those who are satisfied through the Lord show mercy to others and receive even greater mercy from God (Matthew 5:7).
From here, the true nature of a citizen of heaven, who has finally become heavens, is revealed.
However, without mercy, they are arrested on the spot by the law (James 2:13) and imprisoned (Matthew 18:34).
Prayer is impossible, and God's word is not heard.
Sin obscures their path, and they avoid approaching God.
Naturally, God does not accept them.
However, showing mercy to others creates a pure heart, unobstructed by any obstacles on the path to God (Matthew 5:8).
Therefore, God says that we forgive our neighbors for their sins is a condition of prayer, and God will forgive us.
Those who have peace connected to God lead others to the Lord.
Like Paul, we become matchmakers.
We are qualified to be heavenly lawyers.
Of course, we must be prepared for persecution for Christ's sake (Matthew 5:10).
6. Those who belong to the flesh hate those who belong to the other side, the spirit, without reason.
They simply hate them.
This is because their self-esteem is being damaged.
So they curse, mistreat, lie, and slander them with malicious words.
All the prophets of the Old Testament who prophesied the Lord's coming, death, resurrection, and glorification were persecuted in the same way (Matthew 5:11).
However, the kingdom of heaven they embrace brings them joy and gladness.
That is the same reward as the prophets.
If we follow the process of the Eight Beatitudes, we will finally emerge as the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13).
A model student who believes in Jesus is not salt and light.
This is quality.
As long as heaven and earth exist, every single jot and tittle of the law remains the same.
However, for those who have fulfilled the Eight Beatitudes in Christ, a far greater righteousness is achieved than that of the scribes and Pharisees who strive to be flawless in the law (Matthew 5:18-20).
When the Eight Beatitudes are fulfilled, the first half of the vertical Ten Commandments is fulfilled, thus fulfilling God's love, and then the horizontal becomes natural.
We become perfect like our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:48).
