When I was child

I remember my hometown when I was young,

Walking to school hand in hand with friends,
친구들과 손을 잡고 학교에 가던 기억

Playing soccer and running through the schoolyard.
공을 차며 운동장을 뛰놀던 모습

I walked along the mountain path
나는 산길을 걸었지

Where azaleas bloomed so beautifully,
진달래가 곱게 피어 있던 그 길

With a child’s small heart,
어린 마음으로

I couldn’t even pick a single flower.
꽃 한 송이 꺾지 못했네

Today again, as I walk looking ahead,
오늘도 그 길을 바라보며 걸으며

I ran through the narrow mountain path.
나는 좁은 산길을 달렸네

The road where I played as a child,
어릴 적 놀던 그 길

That road with my friends — is it still there now?
친구와 함께하던 그 길, 지금도 있을까

Oh my friend, we talked and laughed together,
함께 이야기하고 웃으며 놀던 친구야

I will bring you an armful of flowers.
꽃 한아름 안겨 줄게

Dressed neatly, I will come to meet you,
곱게 차려입고 마중 나갈게
