13:8 Let no debt remain outstanding, 아무런 빚도 지지 말라

 except the continuing debt to love one another, 서로 사랑해야 할 의무 외에는
for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

이웃을 사랑하는 사람은 율법을 성취했다.

13:9 The commandments, 그 계명들

"Do not commit adultery," 간음하지 말라.

"Do not murder," 살인하지 말라.

"Do not steal," 훔치지 말라.

"Do not covet," 탐내지 말라.

and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule:

다른 모든 계명들은 이 한 가지 규칙에 요약되어 있다.

"Love your neighbor as yourself." 네 이웃을 너 자신처럼 사랑하라.

13:10 Love does no harm to its neighbor. 사랑은 이웃에게 해를 끼치지 않는다.

Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. 그러므로 사랑은 율법의 완성이다. 

13:11 And do this, understanding the present time. 그리고 현재를 이해함으로 이것을 행하라.

The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, 

이제 당신이 잠에서 깨어날 시간이 왔다.

because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

우리가 처음 믿었을 때보다 이제 우리의 구원이 더 가까왔기 때문이다. 

13:12 The night is nearly over; 밤이 가까이 왔다.

the day is almost here. 낮이 거의 여기에 있다.

So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

그래서 우리는 어둠의 행위들을 벗어버리고 빛의 갑옷을 입자.

13:13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

낮에 행하는 것처럼 단정하게 행동하고 난잡한 잔치와 술취함에 빠지지 말고, 음란과 방탕에 빠지지 말고, 다툼과 질투에 사로잡히지 말자.

13:14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, 

차라리 주 예수 그리스도로 너 자신을 옷입고

and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

죄악된 본성의 욕망을 어떻게 만족시킬지 생각하지 말라.
