Bible Reading - Romans 14:13~23

14:13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment(판단을 내리다) on one another.

그러므로 우리는 서로에 대해 판단을 내리는 것을 멈추자.

Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block(장애물) or obstacle(장애물) in your brother's way. 대신에 너희의 형제들의 길에 걸림이나 장애물을 놓지 않도록 너희들의 마음에 결심하라.

14:14 As one who is in the Lord Jesus, 주 예수님 안에 있는 자로서 

I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself.

나는 어떤 음식도 그 자체로 불결한 것은 없다고 확신한다.

But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.

그러나 만약 어떤 사람이 어떤 것을 부정하다고 간주한다면, 그러면 그에게 그것은 부정하다.

14:15 If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, 

만약에 너의 형제가 네가 먹는 것 때문에 고민에 빠졌다면

you are no longer acting in love. 너는 더 이상 사랑으로 행하지 않는 것이다. 

Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died.

너의 먹는 것으로 그리스도께서 위하여 죽으신 너의 형제를 망하게 하지 말라.

14:16 Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil.

네가 좋다고 생각하는 것을 남들이 악하다고 말하도록 내버려 두지 말라.

14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

하나님의 나라는 먹고 마시는 것이 아니며 그러나 의와 평강과 성령 안에서 기쁨이다. 

14:18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

이러한 방식으로 그리스도를 섬기는 어떤 사람은 하나님을 기쁘시게 하며 사람에게도 인정을 받는다.

14:19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification(상호 덕을 세우는 것).

그러므로 우리는 평화와 상호 덕을 세우는 데 도움이 되는 일을 하기 위해 모든 노력을 기울이자.

14:20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food.

음식 때문에 하나님의 일을 망하게 하지 말라.

All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.

모든 음식은 깨끗하지만, 다른 사람을 넘어지게 하는 음식을 먹는 것은 잘못된 일이다.

14:21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall. 너의 형제가 넘어지게 하는 고기를 먹는 것과 술을 마시는 것 그 밖에 어떤 것을 하지 않는 것이 더 낫다.

14:22 So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.

그래서 이러한 것들에 대해 네가 무엇을 믿든지 간에 너 자신과 하나님 사이에서 간직하라.

Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

자신이 옳다고 여기는 것으로 스스로를 정죄하지 않는 사람은 복이 있다.

14:23 But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, 

그러나 의심하는 그 사람은 정죄를 받는다, 만일 그가 먹는다면

because his eating is not from faith; 왜냐하면 그가 먹는 것은 믿음에서 난 것이 아니기 때문이며

and everything that does not come from faith is sin. 믿음에서 오지 않는 모든 것은 죄이기 때문이다.
